Hey everyone! I'm going to be reviewing The Tick (the cartoon, 1994-96) concurrently here and on my blog. There are only 36 episodes total so I figure it's not too ambitious a project to start with while still being something meaty I can sink my hooks into. For those unfamiliar, The Tick became an animated series in 1994 after being a comic book for about six years. Ben Edlund created the character when he was just 18. Edlund is now a writer and producer on Gotham, and from all the impressions I've gotten from interviews and sound bites, he is more than happy to move on from The Tick, which makes me sad as it is a completely warped and singular work of genius, and I can only hope the comics that have been published in this century are of similar quality (I've not read any of them yet). When the series reviews are completed, I'll give some VERY brief takes on some miscellaneous related bits of merchandise, like the live-action series, the video game, and a few of the comics. This thread will be updated with a table of contents as reviews are published. Season One1. The Tick vs. the Idea Men ( thread) ( blog) 2. The Tick vs. Chairface Chippendale ( thread) ( blog)

My roommate and I used to religiously record The Tick on VHS. We would even pause during commercial breaks in order to edit them out.
