After a minor hiatus both for me and the show, we’re back with episode eight of season six, “Sexy Dance Healing” where Bob takes a fall and Jairo returns.
Once again we find ourselves at a “deny Bob happiness for the sake of the family’s status quo” plot and I still really don’t like it when they do that. People speak in hushed tones of “Family Fracas” and how Bob was horribly denied a win, why is it then that his own family can also take his happiness from him yet isn’t really held with the same degree of contempt? There’s the whole aspect that at least he experienced it sure but it still feels like the same grade of unfair involved, he had something but lost it because someone else didn’t want him to have it, puh-sheh-shuh I say.
Now, aside from Bob’s being brought down to Bob Less Than Zero as is normal, this episode has some great lines with Bob’s mental block and Jairo’s still incredibly entertaining antics especially once he moves in briefly to dodge that lawsuit. The kid’s B plot is also a funny turn given how it leads outwards from the main plot but still comes back at the end to supplement it and has somewhat played out a strange dream of mine of giving people letters from non-existent solicitors as a kid. I wasn’t the most normal kid.

A- | Fun episode, could have been a solid A but was greatly let down by having the family forcing Bob back to normal, I can understand why they do it but it’s still not a fun thing to have him forced away from any self-improvement. I liked Steve Buscemi’s minor side role as Tom Innocenti, lawyer for hire too, really quiet which is interesting and reflective of the type of quality people they get in. |
