Another week, another wonderful Belcher tale, this week is farty seats and a lice quarantine in “Lice Things are Lice”.
After a decent of episodes, we hit a bit of a speedbump with season six, the midseason slump. Usually it hits around episode 12 and persists for around 4 episodes before getting back on track and this episode was certainly one of those. It’s a pretty decent storyline with a suspected lice infestation from Wagstaff newcomer Nurse Liz and a kinda louse-y (eh?) B plot involving new stools which fart.
Is there much to say? No, it does what it needs to and Tina gets some time to shine but otherwise it’s kinda so-so, not really doing much that is interesting but not exactly dull. Just what it is, so-so. This review is thin I know, not really an overview as much as a general glance but I can't think of what to say, it's pretty unremarkable. It takes a decent plot but somehow manages to do little with it, gives us character beats but there's something missing, like even though there's some stakes they're not very high. Even with Louise's bunny ears under threat of being burned it never comes to have the impact of Ear-sy Rider and that's probably because we've done it. The B plot isn't much to speak of either, new leather seating when compressed makes noise so they try and squish them to reduce the noise. Much like the A plot, it's a situation which is near mundane in how it never really reaches any specific height and just resolves quietly with a few gags inbetween. It lacks fun and even more than heart or quality lines, fun is what makes this show work and it just wasn't there this week, maybe in April when we pick up again it'll improve a little.

“Ring. *picks up stapler* Oh hello, a librarian emergency? I’ll be right there.”

C-* | At least they got something new, kinda lacklustre but overall a nice episode which had a good concept but failed to execute ultimately. * Downgrade from C due to inclusion of Ollie and Andy, the ol’ Pesto Bump. |
