County Fair Edition:
4-H kids showing their cattle Two boys cleaning a chicken's feet with a toothbrush A former high school classmate A former next door neighbor A distant cousin Lots of farm animals and An old acquaintance who retired from the telephone company, and is now, so he tells me, a full-time, year-round, professional Santa Claus

The number of times I have seen a Quicken Loans employee walking around Downtown while dressed as a dinosaur with no explanation is now up to two.

Two dudes moving casually along the side of the road - grass, no sidewalk - one of them walking, one of them on a hoverboard.

A swarm of hornets/wasps/something like that drifting past the window of the kitchen at work while my pasta was in the microwave. There's a construction site next to the office at the moment so I'm wondering if there was some sort of nest that was disturbed/destroyed. It was fun watching people run in fear as the insects approached them, anyway.

That cute cat again!
As I was kneeling down to pet him, he kept putting his face up and looking at me impatiently. I finally realized he really wanted to headbutt my face. The second I put my face down close to his he headbutted it like 5 times. It was SO ADORABLE!

Went to the art museum, saw (among other things) sneakers inspired by moon boots. Also a church sign with "Jesus had two dads, and he turned out okay." that put me in a good mood.

On a similar note, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which was disappointingly untraumatic for Owl Jr.

So a guy exiting the grocery store in an all white outfit and driving away in a BMW is 100% running a cult, right?

Two different crop dusting planes in two different parts of the state, each flying at top-of-the-cornstalk height, and a bunch of signs protesting freight trains.

An older guy with close-cut hair and a ponytail. The ponytail was draped forward across his right shoulder, still wet from a morning shower, making a giant wet spot on the right breast of his button-down shirt.

In the "heard but not seen" division:
An owl, hooting in the woods behind the neighbor's house last night.

Of course not! It was like being gently sung to sleep. You have the voice of an angel.

Oh my god, we had one of those hanging out right by our bedroom windows for a few nights in a row a couple of years ago. NOT COOL. (The worst part was that it sounded like something was being horribly murdered right outside my window, but it turns out it was an incredibly awesome-looking bird which I didn't even get to see. If I could have seen the pretty owl, I probably wouldn't have minded nearly as much!)

True Childhood Story: My father once left my parents bedroom window open for months because he forgot to shut it after cracking it open one night and a bird built a nest propped up there. He was unwilling to cause the nest to plummet 2 stories or get a ladder.

In another story of Wifemate talking to me while I'm asleep: she disturbed me once coming to bed late, and I reportedly said, "Hooo!" So she said, "Ha. Who cooks for you?" I replied in my sleep, "Who cooks for you all."

A big red fox near my commuter train station. He stopped in some bushes on the side of the road to watch some cars go by and then disappeared back into the woods.
