Maybe this should go in the movie thread, but I found a good documentary about H P Lovecraft on Hulu last night. It goes in to the death of his father and his cold relationship with his mother, and talks a lot about how his xenophobia and fear of corruption / decay influenced and was reflected in his work. Features Neil Gaiman, Guillermo Del Toro and a bunch of other writers and creative types.

I saw that a while ago and thought it was pretty good. An interesting mix of folks influenced by Lovecraft, talking about what made him great and also what was horrible about him.
The guys that do the HP Lovecraft Literary Podcast have also posted a bunch of round-table discussions about Lovecraft on Youtube, under their Witch House brand. Some are better than others, but still worth a look.
