Sometimes - not all the time, but sometimes, and at the most inconvenient times - my mouse registers a single click as a double click. This makes iTunes tricky, and copy and pasting a trial. I've tried putting it in a different usb port, and there my ingenuity comes to a screeching halt. Any ideas?

The double click speed settings might be screwy and you can fix that in the control panel. But last time that happened to me, nothing fixed it and I replaced the mouse. The mouse was pretty old, though.

All mice are illegitimate, Dellarigg. Mice aren't allowed to get married; their pups are always born out of wedlock. The premise of this thread, therefore, seems redundant.

My Logitech G9x is dying, Logitech doesn't make them anymore and I don't want to pay $400 on eBay for another one. Is there a good equivalent weighted fingertip mouse, or am I gonna have to get a big stupid palm mouse?

I saw this thread pop up on the front page and thought to myself, that's a strange title, like something a Brit would say ...

I have taken several mouses (mice?) apart and given them a thorough cleaning, over the years, and this has often solved many weird behaviors, such as double clicking inappropriately, failure to scroll, or scrolling unbidden, and failure to respond when clicked. But then I eat at my desk a lot, and those suckers get naaasty sometimes. If you're at the point of replacing it anyway, what have you got to lose?

I tried cleaning it out--no dice. Ended up buying a Logitech G502 b/c it was the biggest, heaviest mouse I could find. I kind of hate how it looks, though--"gaming" peripherals look so cheesy

I kind of hate how it looks, though--"gaming" peripherals look so cheesy I had a Mionix Naos 7000 that I liked, but the QC was a bit lacking. had the middle click kinda die, and then more recently, I think it either stopped registering presses altogether or the sensor went wonky? pretty disappointing, as I've usually had Logitech mice for upwards of 5+ years before needing to consider replacing them. Mionix really dropped the ball on customer service too, so that kinda nixed my desire to ever buy one of their products again. bit of a shame. I like having larger "palm" style grips. I think Logitech used to make swappable ones, but I'm back to one of their wireless ones again. (which thankfully is a hell of a lot cheaper than when I first bought a G700 or whatever it was called for ~$100 -- amazing mouse, and the refresh seems about as good for much less cost.)

I expected this thread to be about something totally different based on its title...
