I thought this MAY be a good general thread for those who are stumped about what to get for friends, family and acquaintances for various gift-giving situations.
Also, I NEED HELP. See, one of my sisters turns 30 in a few days. Now, when my last younger sibling, S, turned 30, I sent her 30 tiny bottles of booze as "30 shots for 30 years." I want to do the same 30 tiny gift idea for this sister, V, but she is Not a shot drinker like S.
I'm mulling over what the hell to get her now. She likes romance novels, she's a runner, she really loves yoga, she fucking LOVES politics and getting wonky and in depth with policy, she drinks sweet wines, and those are her biggest interests, honestly, that don't involve travel or her kids. Anyone who likes any of this shit and has an idea about what to do, I'd welcome the input!
Also, no, 30 dollar bills is not a choice.

Can you commission a fake Harlequin cover with a title like "Taken By a Vox Staff Writer"?

There are wines delivery services. I know blue apron has a wine and dinner delivery. If she's a wonk she may like some shirts or merch from The Crooked Media Crew, if she likes their podcasts....? If she likes sweet wines she may like some fancy German chocolates that have alcohol in them. There's Class Pass, a monthly service that you pay $35 to for 3 passes to participating gyms near by, so she can check out different yoga studios...?

If she doesn't already belong to a yoga studio you could get her a 30 day unlimited pass. A lot of studios offer them.

Also, no, 30 dollar bills is not a choice. I will only accept non-sequential hundreds on my thirtieth birthday. You’ve all been informed.

All of these are pretty great. She DOES like crooked media podcasts, and the yoga thing looks good, too. If I can't get her 30 political things, I'll get her those thirty days of yoga.

Then you could challenge her to do yoga once a day for 30 days straight. That was she gets the whole 30 tiny gifts thing, plus I'm sure after a month of yoga she'll feel great. Nice way to start the new decade in her life!
