I have to say, it was one of the most moving experiences of my life, seeing the totality. I was sitting in the middle of this river in Wears Valley TN on the outskirts of the Smoky Mountains, and the dimming of the light, subsequent darkness, abrupt temperature change and that amazing black disc in the black sky surrounded by that thin bright ring of white was absolutely surreal. My brain couldn't comprehend what my eyes were seeing in the moment. It was fucking magical. So there.  |
