Like I said on Twitter, literally anything you add to guacamole makes it worse. It is a perfect, simple thing as-is. Why do people insist on writing things like this?

Yet again, I really want a youtube clip of Jeff Winger saying "Apples!" from the meow meow beenz episode of community. It's honestly like twice a week I go looking to see if this exists.
Also, I agree with both of you. This is stupid. It's why I don't add tomatoes to guacamole either.

The only rule of guacamole is "don't under-salt it." People feel the need to add weird shit because they're afraid to add enough salt, which leaves them with bland avocado mash instead of delicious guacamole.

I mostly agree with this, but has anyone tried the green pea addition? I haven't, but could see how it might add a nice green sweetness, plus great colour to the result.
But I can see how the purists blanch at the mere idea.

I don't even like guacamole and this is terrifying.

Let's start a campaign that will kill off hipster-ism, foodie-ism, and maybe the internet itself: petitioning the New York Times to suggest adding kale to guacamole.

People love making simple things complex. Maybe so they can charge more for it? Gourmet comfort foods bother me the most. Grilled Cheese, Mac-and-Cheese - these don't need to be tarted up. They should taste like delicious poverty.

Once upon a time, before the internet ruined everything, The Independent was a proper newspaper. Genuinely a pretty good one, though the ink tended to come off on my hands. Here's the fearless investigative journalism it gets up to now.

These are all small ball as far as internet blunders go. Youtube has a real problem, both with bizarre, low-quality kids content and child abuse: Something is wrong on the internet, about the proliferation of strange cheap Youtube kids’ entertainment. Key sentence: “This is content production in the age of algorithmic discovery — even if you’re a human, you have to end up impersonating the machine.” In other words a lot of these feature real human labor to fit a set of algorithmically-generated quasi-nonsense keywords. It also gets into more disturbing territory, leading to Youtube is addressing its massive child exploitation problemI’m getting closer and closer to Olmos’s Adama’s attitude towards anything computer/network related all of the time. And really, given how terrible the management of stuff like “Don’t include child abuse” is (largely because they’re confident that there’s no need for management, machine learning can do it all, which as a topic is terribly covered in the press, but that’s another topic), I really don’t trust anyone from the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem to do stuff like self-driving or the like. People don’t understand the second-order effects of even pretty clear things, and the massive leap we took with social media has led to second-order effects that are quite, quite bad, no one with any power seems to notice, and no one else wants to sound like a luddite.
