I've also seen recipes refer to it as "Monkey Munch". But never "Human Munch". I never heard it called "puppy chow" til three-four years ago. It was always just "chex mix", no matter what was in it. I've always thought of Chex Mix as the savoury kind made with worcestershire sauce. Though I guess there's nothing to stop someone from making a sweet chex mix.

I agree, Chex Mix is salty-savory (also called Party Mix in my family); puppy chow is sweet and coated with powdered sugar.

The funniest thing (to me) about all this debate over puppy/human chow is that it took me a full hour to realize that what y'all are talking about is really called White Trash.

Once I figured out what you were talking about, I realized you were all talking about muddy buddies but calling them the wrong thing.

Oh, and salt foods - salt cod, salt pork, salt beef. Because I was an 18th century sailor growing up, apparently. The scurvy and syphilis kind of clued us in. On the plus side I *do* have this letter of marque. *runs broadside to @gumberculese*
