I for sure would have thought someone else'd have created this thread by now, but apparently I have to do all the goddamn work in this place !
Here are my 20 favorite movies this year, ranked. My list has some peculiarities : 1. these are movies that were released in France in 2017, so here and there you'll have movies you saw last year and movies yet to be released in the US or UK or whathaveyou. 2. Some other movies I saw in festivals and will never get a proper theatrical release anywhere, unfortunately. But I wouldn't be a bona fide snooty hipster if I didn't include them. They're the ones with an asterisk.
