I disagree with your sentiments, but chose double-square because: candy! I rediscovered them via tombola at my son's last market night. They do fill the belly.
So you dig these because of Doctor Who, correct? Or did they come into your life some other way?

I actually like the taste of black licorice, but don't care for the texture of most off the all-sorts. That being said, I have a certain nostalgia for them because mom would occasionally get a big tin of them when we'd visit grandma and they'd let me eat all the nonpareil jelly things.

I don't like black licorice candy at all, but I do tend to like foods that claim a licorice flavor, especially fennel.
