Sorry to horn in on your territory, Pear, but I just found this awesome link. If any of you ever come to Austin for a visit, look me up, and I'll totally drive you around on your very own personalized FNL tour. I have been to a few of these places, but not all. Time to load up Skeeter in the old pickup truck and hit the road, Riggins-style!

@scottbaio I might seriously hold you to this. I've never been to Austin, I have all kinds of vacation time built up at work, and I love FNL.
Could we go to The Landing Strip, too? (I don't really want to go there. Maybe just to take pictures of the sign, and to buy a t-shirt)

Don't know if they have t -shirts, but I'll buy you a Lone Star and a lap dance!

We can also go to the Broken Spoke (the old dance hall where Crucifictorious played when Riggins came to check them out), E-Z's (the diner where Riggins throws the glass at Smash)... Hell, I don't know. There are a bunch of other places that I know were used in the show (Hill's Cafe, the Victory Grill, etc.) , but I'll have to watch it again to figure out what scenes they were in. Also, some of the places (emo's, Fran's Hamburgers) are no longer around. RIP. If you are truly a glutton for punishment, I could also take you on my Dazed and Confused tour.

Hmm. Depending on when this tour might happen I might be inclined to head on down to Central Texas.

So this weekend is going to be a good one for some FNL-related fun. My dad's 70th birthday is on Sunday, so we are going to take him to the Broken Spoke on Saturday night. The Broken Spoke is the dance hall where Landry played with Crucifictorious in this scene:
Also, playing at the Broken Spoke will be local country hero Dale Watson. Dale apparently appeared in Episode 10 of season 4 as a junkyard owner, but I also know that he appeared onstage performing in at least one episode. I believe it was in Season 1, but I will have to go back and see if I can find it. Dale is a treasure. I have seen him play a few different times, and I'm happy to be seeing him again this weekend. You've still got time to get down here and see him with me!
There is also a fairly heartbreaking documentary that was made about Dale that tells the story of his girlfriend's death in an auto accident and his subsequent mental breakdown. It's a bummer, but still compelling.

Well, as promised, I went to see Dale Watson perform at the Broken Spoke last night: And here is a shot of the stage on which Landry performed his Crucifictorious gig in the clip I posted in the comment directly above this one:
