Feel free to put preferred brands in comments. I've tried everything and though it does stop the stink (for the most part) I have yet to try something that has been able to overcome my body's desire to dampen my shirts (sometimes to a point where it's embarrassingly obvious) by excreting water and salts out of my armpits.

My preferred brand doesn't seem to be sold in stores anymore, so I've taken to buying multipacks on Amazon.

Spray the armpits, then a dramatic diagonal slashing spray across the chest.

For years, I was using the Degree Clinical stick. Earlier this year, I got a rash in one armpit, and then three weeks later in the other, at which point I realized I probably transferred whatever was causing it via the stick. So I switch to a spray for now. I'll probably go back to stick when the spray runs out, though. Spray is harder to take onto airplanes.

seems to be more of a dude thing but a few notes from a lady with a very sweaty husband: - antidepressants and antianxiety meds can make sweating worse - you may want to try putting antiperspirant on before bed as well as in the morning - Certain Dri is supposed to be really good but does not need to be used every day (can cause rashes if you do)

I feel like it has gotten worse. Like i'll be in my kitchen in the morning at a solid room temperature and wearing no shirt and beads of sweat start rolling down my torso. I've heard that but always worried I'd end up with antiperspirant stains on my pillow. But maybe I should just try it. I'll look for Certain Dri thanks.

For the record, not that anyone cares but whatevs, I usually will use Degree, sometimes Old Spice natural scents or whatever the hell they're called. Otherwise if something is on sale for a good price (all this stuff is expensive!) I'll buy that. Currently I'm using a Speed Stick that claims it doesn't stain shirts.

First cannabis, now deodorant? Pastafarian, you're all over the place. I prefer Tom's of Maine. The 'Long-Lasting' formula changed a bit in the past few years. It's become better. My 'go to" fragrances are Maine Woodspice and the newer Mountain Spring, though I have used and enjoyed Calendula, Lavender, Honeysuckle Rose, Natural Powder, and Refreshing Lemongrass. Fresh Apricot? That one is not so good. My history of pitting: Early-to-late teens was very bad in Florida; anti-perspirants didn't work. Nothing worked. 20s - 30s: gradually less pitting. 40s: hardly pitting now.

I am a Mitchum man. I have sensitive skin and most deodorants gives me a rash, but for some reason Mitchum works and has never let me down over like 20 years. I refuse to change brands and I usually buy like 10 at a time whenever I go to the states and try to use it sparingly during the colder months. I dread the day they change the formula or stop selling it. It stops my sweat well enough and hasn't messed up my shirts as far as I can tell.
My other preferred brand is Dove Men's spray-on deodorant, which is seemingly sold in every country on the planet except this one (these guys just got deodorant a year or two ago. Seriously, I think I can buy maybe 3 brands of tiny roll-on deodorants.). I usually pick up a can or three whenever I go on a trip somewhere since I can find it pretty reliably and it also doesn't cause me to break out. I use it during the colder months or when I am low on Mitchum. Make no mistake, Mitchum is better though, and has a better scent by virtue or not being super fragrant.

I use it during the winter when I seem physically incapable of sweat but just in case I get toasty in a meeting or hauling a box upstairs or something. I like the more "natural", less endocrine disruptor aluminum containing option, just not in the heat of summer.

I used to use a really nice Issy Miyake deo that was very mildly scented (I don't like strong scents from toiletries, washing powder etc). Then when I developed hay fever - in my sodding mid 40's - I developed a big allergy to the deo, presumably on the grounds that it uses the same botanicals that I'm now stupidly allergic to. So - I'm the crystal guy. I know it sounds like hippy bullshit but it works for me. Completely scent-free, which I like, way better value for money and it's not putting money in the pockets of Big Deo. There's only one down side, which is the name.
Pitrok.
Really, marketing guys? Really?

I'm just here, days after the fact, to brag that I don't much sweat from my armpits. Not nothing, I am still a mammal and I wear deodorant, but I can sweat all the way down from my neck until my shirt is soaked and the pits will be the last dry part of the fabric. No stains for me.

I'm confused as to why "anti-perspirant AND deodorant" isn't a poll choice. I use the combo one, specifically Old Spice Fiji in stick form. I sweat a lot, so it helps at least reduce it, and when I DO sweat I don't stink, so it seems to work fairly well for me. Now that we're in the 100 degrees phase of the California summer, I'll be using plenty of it for the next three months.

My assumption is all anti-perspirant is also deodorant, not all deodorant is also anti-perspirant. I've used the Old Spice Fiji and a couple of others, i want to say Denali? And some other name evocative of nature. anyway they smell decent.

I just use deodorant because frankly I sweat like a pig all over, so making my pits stop sweating seems kind of pointless.

Now that we're in the 100 degrees phase of the California summer, I'll be using plenty of it for the next three months. OK, this is weird. Historically, antiperspirant gives me, I don't know, hives? clogged pores? zits? And since I sweat freely from all over my body with the mildest physical activity, but not much from my pits, and even that doesn't stink, a light deodorant is my jam. Stick preferred.
So I've been loving the Old Spice Fiji as well! The deodorant is a blue hard gel. But last time I went to a different CVS than usual, and they didn't have the deodorant, but the antiperspirant. It's cream colored, and instead of looking like a semi-hard gel, it looks like a hard cake. I've had no skin break-outs, and although the scent isn't as strong, it's fine. And since I use it for my Old Spice Fiji body wash as well, I'm all scented like the pacific islands anyway. When times are hard, and it's all too much for me, I just bring the back of my hand up to my face and get a whiff of pleasantness. Kinda sad, huh?

Just antiperspirant, because if I don’t sweat I don’t smell.
Also I’m an adamant stick user. I despise gels and don’t understand who they appeal to. The whole point is to not feel sticky, why would I put something that’s sticky from the start on?
I platoon between Mitchum Unscented and Arm & Hammer Unscented based on whether I have coupons and also to avoid developing an immunity to either.

I am a former Old Spice Fiji person, but fell out of the habit of using deodorant while living in Amsterdam. If I get sweaty enough to be bothersome I just take a shower or, if it’s in the case of something pre-planned where one’s not available (e.g. tennis on lunch break in summer) a towel and change of clothes.

Update - I took a closer look at the product. The old deodorant I liked so much had a red sticker and is marked as deodorant - I still have some upstairs. The new stuff I bought, which is actually marked "Deodorant and Anti-perspirant," has a cream colored label, but so does the body wash now. So it looks like they've changed the product all together.

I'm glad to have shared in the journey with you.

I use, frankly, the most chemical-laden shit I can possibly find that doesn't irritate my skin. I've found Dove's Clinical Protection does the trick. If I could do away with all sweat and body smells and smell like a fresh spring breeze for the rest of my life I absolutely would. Keep your crystals, your Tom's of Maine, and all your hippie tree bark. Bring on better smelling through chemistry.

Man has not invented the antiperspirant that can keep my pits from getting sweaty. It could be -20 degrees out and I could be wearing nothing but a tank top and I'd still have sweat pouring from my armpits like at the end if Airplane. Some things you just aren't meant to fight.

I used to basically use whatever stick deodorant/antiperspirant was on sale, but over the past couple of years I've had to switch to unscented because I've developed a horrible allergy to anything else. Which is weird; I can handle perfume and scented body wash just fine. I can usually find Sure, but I really prefer Dove.
It does fuck-all for the night sweats I've been having for the past couple of months, though. The only place I DON'T sweat from during those is my frickin armpits.

anti-perspirant makes me itch. overly perfumed deodorant makes my nips (burnt umber) erect and luscious. I seem to get by ok on tom's honeysuckle rose pitstick, as much as it grieves me to support the corporate appropriation of my sacred hippie ideals.
