Because indiewire jumped the gun and put out a best movies of the decade list(even though the decade isn't over yet) and their list was objectively terrible. Let's all make our own lists that are completely subjective(except mine) and completely personal and not mean shit to anyone else! Here is the terrible indiewire list btw: www.indiewire.com/gallery/best-movies-of-2010s-decade/moonlight-21/Anyway, my preliminary list of things off the top of my head, and in no order right now(I will try to refine this list down to 10 by the end of the year, just for arbitrary reasons): Scott Pilgrim vs The World Boyhood Everybody Wants Some Act of Killing Bernie Star Wars: The Last Jedi 22 Jump Street Wolf of Wall Street Hateful Eight Nightcrawler Sicario Prisoners The Arrival Mission Impossible: Fallout Get Out Us Creed Mad Max: Fury Road Snowpiercer Moonrise Kingdom Social Network Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond Skyfall Dredd Pain and Gain Whiplash Neighbors 2 Hell or High Water Kong: Skull Island The Big Sick Social Network There are most likely films I forgot, because I don't rewatch movies that much. There are also films I have yet to see for whatever reason. As of right now though, off the top of my head, these are the best films of the decade.

Just some additions to my list.
Halloween (2018) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The way I'm deciding on movies is very simple. If I think about it and it immediately gives me good vibes just by seeing the name or trying to visualize the movie, it gets added to the list. If I have to think ahout it for more than a few seconds and it gives me pause before I say "it's great or wonderful" it isn't added to my list. If you don't immediately have the reaction to a movie being brought up and go "what a great movie", then is it really a great movie?

My unscientific list, based on pulling a list of 2010's movies I've seen up on Letterbox and thinking "do I remember having a strong positive reaction to this movie," discounting any and all potential questions of "Is this movie problematic in some way?"
Apollo 11 MI: Fallout Phantom Thread Star Wars: The Last Jedi The Death Of Stalin Lady Bird Dunkirk The Killing Of A Sacred Deer A Ghost Story Silence Arrival La La Land Paterson Manchester By The Sea OJ: Made In America Creed The Big Short Inside Out While We’re Young Nightcrawler The One I Love Noah The Grand Budapest Hotel Her What If? Locke Gravity Drinking Buddies Moonrise Kingdom Moneyball Jiro Dreams of Sushi The Tree of Life Midnight In Paris The Social Network Easy A Cave of Forgotten Dreams Toy Story 3

This is good as hell. Just saw Art of Self Defense last week, still reeling over how good it was

Perhaps I'll go back and number this later, but for now I'm just going to make it a running list of films I really liked, which honestly is going to end up being a pretty normie list, since I don't watch that many movies or have particularly heterodox opinions on what's good, imo.
12 Years a Slave Arrival Blade Runner 2049 Blue Valentine Coco Ex Machina Get Out Green Room Inception Inherent Vice Logan Roma Rush The Shape of Water Sorry to Bother You Star Wars: The Last Jedi Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Toy Story 3 Us
