Because we need another MCU thread? But this game is open to all comic book movies, despite the pithy title.
Okay movie buffs, here's a challenge. Years ago, like at least four years ago, we proved in the threads that there is no working actor today with more than one degree of separation from a comic book movie. Maybe they weren't in a comic book movie themselves, but at some point they co-starred with or were directed by someone else who was.
However, what non-comic book movie has the most comic book movie people in it?
I've got a score of 5 from The Hurt Locker, 2008 Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) Anthony Mackie (The Falcon) Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp) Guy Pearce (the villain from Iron Man 3) Ralph Fiennes (soon to be in another Kingsman movie, based on Mark Millar comics)
Can anyone do better?

I feel like the Hobbit Movies would be the clear winners here, especially the 3rd, which comes in at 8.

Also, as a random aside, its almost just as surprising to see who HASN'T been cast in a comic book movie. Going through the cast of those Hobbit films, I was surprised that neither Luke Evans nor Orlando Bloom have been in a comic book movie yet, although both have been in plenty of other comic-book adjacent stuff. You could make a game out of this too seeing as its almost as much of a challenge.

For films that are only about a step from comic book movies, it's not too surprising that The Hunger Games franchise has a pretty high number. Mockingjay, Parts 1 & 2 both have scores of 9.

Asterix isn't that obscure if you are European or if you took French in middle or high school though I had no idea that there was a live-action movie of it prior to looking at the cast of Troy's imdb stuff (that is the only movie on this list I've not actually seen). I knew that there was a lot of crossover between the cast of Troy and comic book movies but didn't realize exactly how much there was until I checked. |
