Who's ready to talk Dunkey's disastrous Death Stranding revi

It certainly was a choice for Dunkey to vacillate between mocking Kojima for saying that no-one would understand Death Stranding, and completely missing the point of Death Stranding.

'For a story about connecting, the game is ironically unbound from the gameplay. There are cut-scenes at the start, then gameplay, then cut-scenes at the end...

*Cut to footage of Mama talking about how she felt bound to her mother from birth, while Dunkey traverses the game, complaining about her monologue because it's 'boring'*'

Truly, how did Kojima miss the fact that if you ignore all the in-game dialogue, and skip all the mid-game cutscenes, then it's just confusing gameplay sandwiched between nonsensical cutscenes?


Honestly, I can sort of get behind the sentiment that the game is just too tedious to be worth completing, but Dunkey's wombo-combo of willful misinterpretation and dismissing the entire game because it doesn't just explain itself to him by the end sounds like the kind of analysis that you'd get from a reddit comment section.
