The Razzies are shitty and rigged and exist primarily to dump on things everyone was already dumping on. Frankly if there's going to be a shitty and rigged pile-on I can't think of any better community for it to happen than right here on the TI. If things go well I'll see about bringing in strippers and blackjack. So how I'm thinking this would work is everyone would post their nominations (up to five per category) in this thread for transparency and forcing you to be accountable for your stupid opinions, and then on January 20 the nominations will be announced January 13 the shortlists will be announced. Worst Movie Worst TVWorst Franchise (must have some major release this year) Worst Thing To Happen (can take place in the pop culture or be part of the discussion around pop culture) If you have any other category suggestions we'll add them on and see how it goes. There isn't much point in nominating things I haven't seen.
"Mrs. Fletcher" was attempting to be cringey and funny. While it was certainly uncomfortable it was rarely funny at all, and then it had a massively pointless non-resolution. Worst TV.
Shazam! was okay but not great and certainly didn't live up to the hype. It was definitely below Wonder Woman at the top of the DC heap, but it didn't put me to sleep like Aquaman. Worst Franchise, not that I've seen any others this year besides the MCU.
Is Hellboy even a franchise? Two movies and reboot? I only saw a few bits of Hellboy but it was crummy, don't know if it was as bad as The Golden Army. Eh. Worst Franchise.

I feel like franchise should only be stuff that has had multiple releases in the year, or not at all. Otherwise if only a single thing from the franchise was released just put it under worst movie for example.

Worst Movie: Well I think we all know it's Stuber. But putting that to one side, there has rarely been a more joyless movie-watching experience I have had than X-Men: Wut? It's not even fun enough to take the piss out of. I'm sure Cats will doubtless qualify but as I'm never watching it I'll never know.
Worst TV Show: The Terror: How Did We Fuck This Up? Because, really. How did they fuck up that? It's an insanely good premise and setting, a fascinatingly under-explored part of history, they have George Fucking Takei on board, a generally excellent cast, and somehow it all results in one of the most bland, ill-judged series I think I've ever seen. Bits of it do occasionally hit unintentionally funny, but it's mostly just a dreary, jump-scare-or-look-at-a-thing-a-long-way-off attempt to invoke spookiness. It. Does. Not. Work.
Worst Franchise: Downton Abby. Fucking class tourism is back everyone!
Worst Thing To Happen: The ellipses in One Upon A Time In... Hollywood. Oh do fuck off Quentin, there's a good chap. Cats (again, and again assumed). People losing their shit over The Rise Of Skywalker, a perfectly serviceable but relatively unremarkable end to the trilogy of trilogies. Logan Paul's ability to continue the consumption of valuable oxygen. Why anyone cares about Gavin And Stacey. Still Game ending for good.
