I have a Lenovo IdeaPad L340, and I like it, for the most part (although I wish that the numbers island was set a bit further apart because I keep accidentally turning number lock on and off when I'm going for the backspace key). But one thing that's really driving me nuts is that when I type, the cursor will jump to another part of the sentence or document. I've tried typing with my wrists off the...whatever the blank part of a keyboard in front with the track pad is, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I set the track pad to medium sensitivity, because I don't use the mouse sometimes, and I still want it to respond easily.
What I want to know is if there's a way to disable the track pad while my mouse is plugged in but enable it when I unplug the mouse. My last laptop made the switch automatically. I've looked through the settings but either it doesn't have that capability, or I've missed something.
Help?

It's going to be one of those things that depends on the driver. I found instructions for how to do this in an article, but I checked my own computer, and I don't have those options (I have numerous issues with my touch pad, and the driver crashes when the computer starts, I don't remember if the options were there before the problems started, but I digress). If you don't have the options, you might check the Levono website to see if they have a more recent driver, and that may or may provide them.

Thanks, man. I realized I've been totally rude and forgot to acknowledge your response, so I'm sorry about that! I hadn't thought about checking the drivers.
