I'm mainlining Spider Man - Amazing 2 to modern day - because I'm going to Dr. Strange and since it's Marvel you can't watch a movie without having taken a three week correspondence course. So far, between ones I've watched before and all the new ones (except for No Way Home since I'm not there yet): I don't like Spider Man 2 as much as a lot of people. I like Amazing Spider Man 2 more than a lot of people. Somehow this washes out to liking them roughly the same amount. Into the Spider Verse is the best, Amazing Spider Man is the worst. You probably also 'need' to watch the episodes of What If...? that feature Dr. Strange, and also WandaVision. WV is on my to do list for the rest of the month, anyway. At least those What If episodes are pretty good. the whole series is decent.

I consider What If to be bottom-tier MCU. It had its moments, but it is definitely the least-essential MCU anything in shared-continuity stuff. Other movies have already told you about the multiverse, and the only new character is The Watcher.

The first episode is stellar, and I admire the ending of the Strange episode (mostly), but beyond that it's a bit... I dunno. Not "lazy" exactly but it feels like they often take the most obvious path available. The last episode is solid, but across the series there's a whole lot of chaff before the wheat becomes apparent.

I think Bith's take here is that one 'needs' to watch the Strange episodes of Why Tho...? because Dark!Stephen looks from the trailer to be somewhat-to-heavily involved in the upcoming movie, and people who missed that episode will be even more and differently confused.

Yeah - I've avoided any actual spoilers or trailers, but headlines point to a bunch of references to Dr. Strange's experiences in What If, and the most prominent reflection on the poster (above and to the left of Strange, from the viewer's perspective) looks like the WI version of him, and Captain Carter's shield is visible in the bottom right. I haven't seen Loki, which seems more timey-wimey, but WI seems the most multiversal of the TV series.

So who ultimately won in the showdown between Prole and Parker? And will there be a Snyder cut?

So who ultimately won in the showdown between Prole and Parker? And will there be a Snyder cut? Prole one because after all that I can still stand to watch a Spider-Man movie which means that not even AS1 could defeat me! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! As for the Snyder Cut... (which is to say I'll end up posting the reviews on my blog and once that's done I'll end up writing a couple of supplementary articles and probably reworking a bit of No Way Home once I've had more time to think about it)

So who ultimately won in the showdown between Prole and Parker? And will there be a Snyder cut? Just take out all the scenes that contain any lightness, humor, or humanity, and then slow down all the other scenes so the remainder is four hours long, and voila, Snyder cut.

The 'Snyder Cut' of Watchmen was a lot better than the theatrical. To be fairer, I didn't watch the Snyder cut of Sucker Punch, even though I own the DVD. To be fairest, I didn't even watch the non-Snyder cut of Justice League, because I don't hate myself enough to do that.

I didn't know there was a Snyder cut of Sucker Punch, and I am having a hard time imagining how a movie which is the most Snyder that any Snyder movie had ever been could be more Snyder. But like you, I don't hate myself enough to find out.

I should, or maybe listen to it somewhere. I don't know how he managed to make a movie with so much 'cool stuff' so boring, but I would like to find out. There's also a 'Snyder cut' but it looks like it hasn't yet been released. An R-rating doesn't seem like it's going to matter much, if he can't figure out how to make it less lifeless.

I liked the Snyder cut of Justice League and thought it was a vast improvement on the theatrical version, partially because the tonal whiplash was removed.

Finally watched No Way Home and... I both enjoyed it and thought it was kind of a failure. Unlike Prole, I didn't think it got to the point near fast enough - the first half drove me nuts since it was driven mostly by Peter being an idiot - and I was getting very restless. When it finally got to the good stuff, as it were, I kept thinking about how all of this would play if someone was just invited along by some friends. I also couldn't figure out what Sandman's arc was even supposed to be, every scene it was like he was a different, completely unrelated character. I enjoyed a lot of it, and having Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire back was a delight, but I do definitely think it was the worst of the Holland movies and easily worse than any Spider Man with 2 in the name.
Of course I'm the guy who hates Infinity War, so my opinions on the MCU tend to run counter to the consensus.
Alfred Molina's Doc Ock was a highlight though, he's still brilliant in the role.
