Partly because of my upcoming move, partly because I'm tired of hauling this many books from place to place, partly because 90%+ of what I read now is e-books (and it's realistically something like 99.9% when it comes to novels). I'm in the process of cleaning out my library. And I'm at the point where I'm offering them up to you all, after which I'll probably just donate the rest. The stuff here is a mix of things I've read and have no intention of rereading, things I've bought an ebook of, things I realistically know I'm never going to get around to, things that, due to sheer book weight, I'll read on ebook when I get around to reading them, things that are easily available for free because they're in the public domain, and things I'm sort of tired of looking at. Plus probably some other categories. If you want any of this, I'd ask that you claim it in this thread, so other people know it's taken. First come first serve, to keep it as fair as possible. I'll mail it off whenever I get around to it, which might not be for a couple weeks, but it will depend on a bunch of things. If you claim anything, just DM me an address, ideally listing whatever you want. There will probably be another wave of this at some point, but that probably won't be for a while. Fiction was the largest single category and also the easiest to cull. I don't want any money for any of this; if anyone feels like they absolutely have to, donate it to Planned Parenthood or something. Also, don't feel guilty if you're asking for a lot; the more people here want, the more I can get rid of quickly. I realize that pictures aren't the easiest way to read the titles, but they're the easiest way to post the titles, so here are the goods: If anyone needs any titles clarified I can probably grudgingly comply.

Ben Grimm I'd be interested in the two Harlan Ellison books - but if you don't want to stretch to international postage, that's fine.

Man, I really don't need more books right now, but I am interested in reading a handful of these and am already picturing that Robin Hood and Caine Mutiny looking sweet on my shelves...

I'll take King Rat.
It's the only Mieville I don't have in physical form.
ETA: OH, and the Ambrose Bierce collection.

I'll happily take The City and the City, and all the Asimov and Christie except And Then There Were None. And pay for shipping if desired.

Dibs on the Fletch collection. OK, I'll set them aside for you. Incidentally, for everyone who hasn't yet, remember to DM me the addresses you want this sent to. I don't know where any of you live well enough to be meaningful to the post office.

I would like to have the Joe R. Lansdale books, the Doc Smith Lensmen books, and the David Wong books.

I'd read the Jim Thompsons, if no one else has a claim on them. And the Lansdales, but I'll look for those used or something.
The Stainless Steel Rat was a lot of fun - someone should snag that!

I sincerely don't need any more books. So, of course, I will take "Gravity's Rainbow", "The Tropic of Cancer", Joseph Kanon's "Alibi", Isherwood's "Berlin Stories", and the Graham Greene books.
I can pay for shipping, if you'd like.

Thanks! Perhaps owning a physical copy of "Gravity's Rainbow" will prompt me to actually try reading it. I say this as I look at a bookshelf with at least 400 books I haven't yet read.

You need to have enough books still to read or what's the point.

I'll be sending everything out in the next few days; just a heads up.

Sent the books out today. For most of them (i.e., everyone in the US), they shipped media mail and are expected to arrive roughly Tuesday. Technically, the Post Office is allowed to open media mail to confirm that it's actually media; I've never had that happen, but it's potentially possible. So expect either a re-used box or a padded envelope with your name and address crudely scrawled on it roughly next week. I can provide tracking if you want it.
Dellarigg's books to the UK - I'm really fuzzy on how long they'll take, but in my experience, probably a couple weeks or so.

If you’re still distributing books, I just noticed this thread - I’d take Look Homeward Angel, The Manchuria Candidate, Absalom Absalom, and Blood Meridian. I can DM you my details.

I'll set them aside for you, but it may be a bit before I make it to the post office again. For anyone else, I'm going to start hauling the remainder of these to somewhere (probably either the library, if they want them, or one of the charity shops), soon, so if you want anything, let me know.

Is there a chance of snagging the Patricia Highsmith? You're lucky I'm a chronic procrastinator. Set them aside for you. I'll get yours and PowerThirteen's mailed off whenever I make it to the post office next. Please DM me an address to send it to.
