A horrifying 92% of trucking companies in the U.S. have no safety rating whatsoever from the federal government. It's because of how frequently they change names or merge. A trucker ran into the back of my friends truck and horse trailer over the weekend. Four horses and my buddy died. His funeral is Saturday. A trucker fell asleep and ran into my truck and horse trailer in 2019. I have known a lot of truck drivers, including several family members, since I was a little kid, and based on my personal experience, I'd say the overall quality of drivers, and by extension their trucking companies, has gone down dramatically over the years.

Oh god, Floyd, I'm so sorry. I think I read somewhere that one of the most deadly jobs on earth is toll collector in those little kiosks because of how frequently sleeping drivers plow through them.

For some reason, it has escaped my attention until just now that Spielberg directed Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The name of the comic book villain Brainiac is a portmanteau of the words brain and maniac, not brain and ENIAC. Looks like I was giving DC writers too much credit.

...that back when they were both young, struggling actors, Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman were roommates. And later they were joined by Robert Duvall!
So rare to get a new piece of trivia about famous people. So much talent in one apartment. Thanks TCM.

Wilbur from "Mr. Ed" did the voice of Scrooge McDuck for 40 years and was super prolific on TV besides.

Local laws prevent the Indy 500 from going past 8:15. If they cannot finish all 200 laps by then, whoever is in the lead will be declared the winner.

Charles Durning landed on Normandy on D-Day, stepped on a mine, and when he’d recovered took part in the Battle of the Bulge. Among his other decorations he was a chevalier in the Légion d'honneur.

Rawkus Records, imprint of Black Star and Company Flow and who gave Eminem a launching pad, was co-founded (i.e. the financial backing) by James Murdoch, son of Rupert, who later acquired a majority stake in the label.

Charles Durning talking about landing on the beach on D Day I heard another interview where he talked about the war, but I can't find the clip. I remember him saying "I killed a guy with a rock. Bashed his head in. I had to" The man really went through hell, as did so many.

The author of "How to Eat Fried Worms" was Norman Rockwell's son. Was that Sam, or George Lincoln?

That's not Tina Weymouth playing the bass on "Genius Of Love". I know this is sacrilege, but is Genius of Love too long as a song? After the first 30 seconds you've got it, and while it's a good little riff that drives the song, it never actually does much else. Don't me wrong, I like it but... eh. It goes on a bit. In unrelated news, Tina is awesome.
