NOTE: This is NOT #hometasking (although feel free to share any amusing home-tasking attempts here)
This is a thread to share your unique and novel solutions to tasks presented on existing episodes of Taskmaster, such as:
Series 9 / Episode 3
TASK: Break something into the most parts and completely fix it. (5 minutes to select; 3 minutes to break; 7 minutes to fix)
My solution: Break up a chocolate bar like Jo did, but instead of taping it back together, melt it on a baking sheet in the oven for 7 minutes or until the pieces stick back together, then pull it out of the oven. Alternately, ask for a chunk of mozzarella cheese and a cheese grater. Grate the cheese for 3 minutes and then melt the whole thing in a pot on the stove for 7 minutes. If Alex questions whether the cheese is back together, pull on the melted cheese with a spoon to show that indeed, it is all connected.
Once a week I'll try to remember to post a prize task (probably starting with Series 9 because that's what I'm watching now) for discussion and I encourage others to come up with original tasks for the group.
Because this IS Taskmaster, there are rules, of course:
RULES 1. You may not defy the laws of physics (ie. if you throw the rubber egg, assume it's still going to bounce) 2. You may not attempt to do the same thing as a contestant only 'better' - you must change technique or strategy. 3. You may not use items that could not be easily obtained by a British TV production crew (ie. weapons-grade plutonium).
Additional rules may be added if I feel like it, for I am the diminutive TASKMASTER of the TASKMASTER Play-along thread!!!

Series 9 / Episode 6
TASK: Push a watermelon up a slide using the smallest number of breadsticks.
My solution: Get an appropriately-sized shovel out of the shed. Duct tape at least two layers of breadsticks to the inside. Use the breadstick-coated shovel to push the watermelon up the slide.

2nd PRIZE TASK:
S9/E2: The best bag
My contribution: a dialysis bag - not only does it save lives, but it's super fun to experiment with. After AP Bio lab, I drew a face on mine and kept it as a pet in my locker for weeks.

Series 12 / Episode 2
TASK: Paint the spacehopper in the dome green without making a mess. Fastest wins.
My solution: Bring a trashbag into the dome and put the ball in. Pour the green paint over the ball inside the trashbag and rub the paint all over within the trashbag. Gently place the trashbag with the ball down on something ring-shaped like a large bowl and uncover the top of the trashbag. Bow to the green ball to complete the task.

3rd PRIZE TASK: S9/E3: The weirdest wooden thing My contribution: Some sort of shit sculpture made from scraps in my garage, much like Homer Simpson's outsider art - unless I could get my hands on an amusing phallus. We have a bizarre wooden candlestick thing in our family that has been dubbed the Horgon. It appears to have been intended as a candlestick anyhow, because there's a cylindrical hollow in the top that appears to be about the right size to hold a taper candle. However, the stick itself has a slight bow in it, and the flat base of the Horgon is not in the same plane as the cylindrical hollow, so a candle in it would not be upright. Not that you can actually place it to be upright, because the flat base is also not in line with the centre of gravity of the Horgon, so it will topple over if you try to stand it up that way. The colour of the Horgon is an unfinished grey wood, like a branch that's been left in the sun for a decade or so. Carved into one side of the Horgon is a representation of a face that looks as though they are in extreme agony, experiencing extreme rage, or possibly both. The whole thing is about 60 cm long, making it too long to be easily stored or displayed anywhere, but not long enough to repurpose into anything useful. For years the Horgon has floated around the family as the very least desired present that can be received in our annual Useful/Useless Christmas Gift Exchange. It has survived several contenders to take it's crown over the years as the most Useless thing you can get, beating a broken 20-lb wrench and even a plastic fiddle with plastic fruit glued to it and spray-painted gold. Anyhow, if I could figure out which cousin currently holds the Horgon, that's what I would submit as the weirdest wooden thing.

moimoi I want you to know that I *just* started watching Taskmaster with my mom. It's great! I'm looking forward to seeing Victoria Coren Mitchell in the later seasons.

My first thought for celebrating on stage is half a dozen scantily clad dancers. The logistics of that might be difficult for the show, so I'd probably go for a big box overflowing with fireworks. The best defunct thing ever is Microraptor, but I don't have one of those. I do however have a resin cast of one of the second or third best defunct things: the tiny pterosaur Anurognathus. Unlike larger pterosaurs, with their long, pointy bird-like beaks, or lizard-like toothy snouts, Anurognathus had a short, little round face and big eyes. It was about the size of a robin, making it one of the smallest pterosaurs known. It's thought that they were likely similar to nightjars, flying about at dusk and gulping down insects with their big, froggy mouths.

6th PRIZE TASK: S9/E6: thing you would be most pleased to find in a field My contribution: a glowing briefcase full of money - a la Pulp Fiction/Kiss Me Deadly/Fargo Years ago, I saw a news report about the police finding a cardboard box in a field that was filled with 20 kg of weed sealed in 1 kg bags. From the shots of the "crime scene" I recognized the field, and realized I had actually stepped over that box in the same field the day before while checking for mosquitoes. If only I had opened that box. Anyhow, if I could find that box in a field again, I'd definitely check it this time.

Completely unrelated to the task at hand (ba dum tssss) but this has been bugging me for a while now - does anyone hear the opening chords of the Taskmaster theme and get a distinct whiff of the classic theme tune from the Commodore 64 title Monty on the Run?

Definitely similar, but I can't quite sing the lyrics along to it... Taskmaster's on. It is on now. Time marches on. It is not how. Taskmaster's on. Sit yourself down. On your sofa. Right there in your own town.

So at the end of series 3, the final challenge is a tower of Hanoi sort of deal, where everyone had a stick with five donuts on it, and they had to have the smallest unique number of donuts on their stick, and for the first time on the show I had the thought, "I would win this challenge easy." Because absolutely none of them seemed to realize zero is a number!!

My contribution: a bag of solid gold eggs while eating chocolate eggs My first thought when watching this was a bag of kittens, but then quickly realized that sitting on kittens would probably be terrible. So I'd rather lay back, and have a bag of kittens sit on me.

From the most recent episode: Series 16, episode 4
Make a surprisingly pleasant sausage from ingredients with the letters S-A-U-S-A-G-E
S - seaweed (for the wrapping) A - arborio rice (cooked) U - unagi S - sesame seeds A - anatto food coloring (for the rice) G - garlic (toasted) E - egg (hard boiled)
Make two types of onigiri 'sausages': one unagi/sesame seed and one egg/garlic with dyed arborio rice and wrapped in seaweed

Series 17, episode 5 Bear the most impressive load I would dress Alex up in a crown and cape and then get on my back on the ground to bear his entire torso with my legs, yoga aerial style. This would result in me lying on my back on the ground and him up off the ground in a superman pose, supported by just my feet and hands.
