Can Data from the "Star Trek" TV shows/movies orgasm?

Data is fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques and can make other people orgasm.
But before he has an emotion chip, he cannot orgasm. After he has an emotion chip he CAN orgasm. The Borg queen also grafts human skin onto him and gives him an orgasm presumably.

Lore would be even more certain to orgasm first and end the sex immediately afterwards than he would have before the Borg, because now his orgasm is obviously everyone's orgasm.

Here's another important question. The Borg are part organic beings, part machines. Does this also apply to their genitals, or are those either entirely organic or entirely mechanical?

Their debut in "Q Who" shows a nursery of infant Borg in incubation chambers, which would imply some sort of sexual reproduction and thus, to me, organic genitals. Whether or not that means that the Borg were engaging in physical intercourse at that time, or ever did at some point in their evolution, is, I suppose, a whole different question. The First Contact/Voyager depiction of the Borg would seem possibly at odds with all that though. From this point on the Borg seem much more reliant on growing their ranks through "assimilating" mature adults from other organic species via injection of nanobots. You also, to the best of my knowledge, never meet a character freed from the Borg collective that was actually born a Borg. They were always born part of another alien race and then assimilated. This all implies that the Borg are wholly reliant on this method for propagating the organic component of their species and any organic genitals are purely vestigial at this point. It also raises the question of whether one would consider the Borg's nanobot injectors as 'mechanical genitals'. I suppose it's possible that the Borg are also sexually reproducing and this just never comes up but, at the surface, this all seems at odds with the 'baby Borg' depicted in "Q Who".

Wait, so 7/9 wasn't born a Borg? No, she was a human improbably brought to the Delta Quadrant by scientist parents that probably should have been more closely monitored by the Federation equivalent of child protective services. The backstory is literally and hilariously "Hey, we just found out about this species of space cyborgs that were immediately hostile to and kicked the ass of our most powerful starship. Let's grab our 5 year old daughter and wander into their space with basically-a-large-shuttlecraft. What could go wrong?"

Wait, so 7/9 wasn't born a Borg? No, she was a human improbably brought to the Delta Quadrant by scientist parents that probably should have been more closely monitored by the Federation equivalent of child protective services. Here's another conversation that I guess people never get to have have because the powers that be want to silence free speech. Jean-Luc Picard was famously turned into a Borg in a two-part episode of TNG. We see him get a robot arm and some other mechanical bullshit attached to his body. Then after he is deassimilated from the Borg collective, we see that this mechanical apparatus has all been removed. Or so we think. We don't actually know this for sure. And the reason for this is is that we never see Picard's genitals on any episode of TNG, either before, during, or after his time in the Borg Colective, to see if the Borg replaced them with mechanical genitals. For all anybody knows, the Borg Collective might have replaced Picard's reproductive organs with mechanical facsimiles of those organs in such a way that it was impossible for the Enterprise crew to remove them, and for all subsequent TNG episodes/TNG movies/that DS9 episode Picard was on/the show Picard, it may be the case that Jean-Luc Picard canonically has a mechanical Borg-style penis. Think about it. My logic is airtight.

Re: Data. This of course raises an interesting philosophical question regarding the relationship between sensation and emotion. We know from the TV series that Data can and does have sex. We know that Data has some version of sensation--though he seems capable of ignoring pain--and might even have been programmed by Dr. Soong to experience "pleasure." But is pleasure pleasurable without the desire to feel pleasure? (The show tends to draw a distinction between want and intent and emotion which I never quite buy. Would Data truly want to become human if he was truly incapable of experiencing emotion? Would he truly "want" anything beyond attending to his basic material needs? But that's a different conversation.) Anyway, I concur with Lt. Broccoli that pre-emotion chip Data was incapable of experiencing an orgasm while post-emotion chip Data presumably was. Now, I do think Data was always perfectly capable of simulating his orgasms, and might even have been programmed to do so, depending on Soong's definition of "fully functional" at sexing up one's fellow sentient beings. Re: Borg, genitalia and reproduction thereof. I don't think the various depictions of the Borg are necessarily incompatible. It could be that the Borg's primary method of "reproduction" is via assimilation, but they still might recognize the utility of good old sexual reproduction, particularly when their assimilation options are currently limited--hence the production and gestation of "baby Borg." However, sexual reproduction doesn't necessarily require sex, which I imagine the Borg would find messy and inefficient--ditto pregnancy--so they would probably rely on cloning or in vitro. Individual drones' sexual organs are likely ignored, or quite possibly removed and discarded after the genetic material has been extracted. So there's a good chance that post-Borgification Picard simply doesn't have a dick, and he rightly prefers not to talk about it, or maybe Dr. Crusher grew him a new one from stem cells or something.

The Baby Borg isn't necessarily at odds with the assimilation only model. It's quite possible that the Borg do not limit their assimilations to physically mature individuals, but are willing and even eager to assimilate children as well. In fact, this is canonically the situation that occurs to the young Seven of Nine. The incubation/growth chamber from "Q Who" is simply their way of storing physically incompetent Borg until they've matured enough for tasks requiring mobility. Really, one could consider the Borg to be the nanobots: an obligate parasitic species that uses other lifeforms for mobility and physical manipulation of the environment, and are always looking for new and useful physical abilities from different organic species.

Like, he clearly forms friendships and attachments...but there's no 'emotion' involved? They would have been better off indicating that Dr. Soong had added some sort of inhibitor to Data after his experience with Lore, instead of saying he'd completely left out an 'emotion chip'.

I think Data can ejaculate but feels no pleasure from it. He only does so out of regard for his partner. It's obvious from the robot copy of Data's mom that Dr. Soong had a sexless marriage, with it being more of an intellectual union, so his creator only has theoretical knowledge of orgasm and could only program what he'd seen in health class videos. Plus it's implied that Dr. Soong castrated himself as a teenager to increase his IQ. Logically, how can you invent a real android when 90% of your brain is thinking about sex? You can't. QED.
Anyway, Data fakes his orgasms.

Think about it. My logic is airtight. During the extremely shit movie Generations, when Picard hears of the death of his nephew, he breaks down in tears and laments, "now there will be no more Picards". One has to ask oneself why - after all, at that point we can assume Picard would be capable of siring offspring and, whilst certainly an older gentleman, there seems nothing to prevent him having children at that age beyond finding a willing lady womaness of child-rearing years (or, I dunno, a transporter accident or something). if, however, his genitals have been replaced with Borg nano-junk this might explain why he's so upset about the absence of future generations of Picards, since he can no longer have kids. Thus is would seem that Generations supports Rando's theory. Anyway post- First Contact orgasm seems certain, but he's very emotional during "The Naked Now", so some pre-FC orgasming seems likely, or at least implied. It's possible he, ahem, shot his oil during "Descent", and indeed I hope he did because he'd be the lone person to get any pleasure out of that terrible, terrible two-parter.

A genius like Dr. Soong would not make such an obvious oversight.

I'm pretty sure it's actually strong evidence of the opposite, as Dr. Soong built himself a fully functional sexy sex machine to fuck. And logically, the urge (and ability) to build a sexy sex machine is multiplied by a thousand times before you build yourself a sexy sex machine. The urge probably goes down at least a little bit after that.

It is unclear to me why our Star Trek Sex Expert, Nudeviking , isn't, erm, all over this thread... I cast my vote and Lt. Broccoli already brought up all the evidence I would have brought forward to prove that he can, in fact, orgasm. I might put his ability to orgasm prior to him canonically getting an emotion chip though since in Measure of a Man he is under Star Fleet law proven to have at least some emotional responses to interpersonal relationships.

Does this mean that Data from the "Star Trek" TV shows/movies can lactate? I mean, if he already has a reservoir of viscus white fluid in his body, it would stand to reason that a good designer would make that fluid available to be used as both ejaculate and milk to better cater to his users' specific kinks. Now, if that fluid needs to be used to nourish and sustain a baby, it would stand to reason that that fluid is something that needs to be refilled regularly and is unlikely something he produces himself. Maybe there is some sort of shelf stable bag of synthetic baby formula he can insert within his body cavity and puncture like a Capri Sun when needed. Full disclosure, I've only made it half way through S6 of TNG so if this is contradicted by in-show cannon, I apologize.

I always assumed the baby Borg in incubation chambers were clones of some sort that had been grown in a mechanical uterus substitute too horrifyingly Giger-esque to be shown on early-90’s broadcast television.
