Between this and the Shakira track yesterday (which is like the perfect Heardle song) I've been having a good run here. Now that I say that tomorrow's track is going to be some Machine Gun Kelly crap with an assist from some TikTok idiot with a username like 69Enemaaaz. #Heardle #57 🔊🟩⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ heardle.app

I solved today's Redactle (#10) in 71 guesses with an accuracy of 64.79%. Played at www.redactle.com/^ my favorite wordle variant yet. After slogging through 300-400 words on a couple of rounds last week I got today's (#18) in 19 guesses with 68.42% accuracy.

I solved today's Redactle (#19) in 50 guesses with an accuracy of 48.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/Considering the median and average I'm okay with that.

I find Tradle pretty fun—you’re given a chart of the exports and then guess which country it is, with both a score of how close you are in terms of export composition and an arrow in the direction you need to go to find the right answer. Some of them are pretty quick, some are pretty surprising (I was surprised that one major exporter didn’t export many agricultural products, for example), and some can be really difficult, either because an economy’s not quite what you thought it was or because they’re just so obscure (there was a run of three days in a row with different Caribbean islands).

ETA: I solved today's Redactle (#22) in 12 guesses with an accuracy of 83.33%. Played at www.redactle.com/Truly infuriating when you get a *variant* on the title immediately and then realize 50 guesses later the title is that thing you guessed towards the smart but as a gerund or plural or something.
Particularly today when I proceeded to waste a ton of guesses on stuff like Mahayana, lol.

Wordle 317 2/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 To be fair, the answer was one of my two standard guess words. ETA: I solved today's Redactle (#26) in 45 guesses with an accuracy of 77.78%. Played at www.redactle.com/ I would have gotten it a lot sooner had I known that "Babylon" only refers to the city while "Babylonia" refers to the state.

Really enjoying this one, less as an intellectual exercise and more as an excuse to look at cool pictures by cool artists. I love it.

Redactle today turned into a test to see how much knowledge I retained about a specific academic discipline. I just kept typing in words related to this field until I finally got to the answer. Discovered the field around guess 40, but it still took until nearly 100 to get the correct term. It was a definite "Do I remember stuff I was taught in 11th grade?" moment.

Stupid Quordle today had a Top Left word that had zero letters in common with the words in two other quadrants. It only has ONE letter in common with any of the other three words. Sigh. Definitely got frustrated with this one and typed in three mutually exclusive words to start just to eliminate letters.
So far Quordle is my sweet spot for this type of game. Wordle is too easy and the bigger ones are too complicated. This game is perfect for the amount of time I want to spend on a game.

Finally cracked the 7-minute barrier on a Monday NYT crossword. (Stupid averages are too high because I keep forgetting to close the tab when I move onto something else for awhile)

Late to the party as always, but now I'm hooked on Spelling Bee. Go on Spelling Bee: keep telling me I'm a genius and I'll never quit you.
(I get to Genius most days and to Queen Bee with hints, but so far no QB on my own grr)

Got Framed in one today because Children of Men is the one of the very few movies of its era to make a monochrome grey color scheme look interesting, thus the first still shown in Framed was distinctive unlike the innumerable lazy attempts of its contemporaries to prove itself a Serious Movie by means of relentlessly dull grimdark aesthetics (also helps that plenty of Children of Men doesn't utilize a monochrome grey color scheme).

I got the last couple in one on framed. Animation really narrows it down and helps, so I find those easier. I think #75 was the only one I did not get at all and that was because not only had I never seen it, I have never even heard of it.

Framed #90 was very easy. Was pretty sure I knew the first one, but I went to #2 to make sure. The second one was a dead giveaway. Got it in two because this film is unforgettable. And yes, animated films really narrow it down.

This is the only one I've felt sure about on the first shot. I love this film. I love its look. Unmistakable.

I guess the moment has passed on this stuff, but the other day I found out about Evil Wordle and I really like it. The game has the structure of Wordle, but with every successive guess the "target" word changes to fit all previous guesses. There is no right answer; the game continues until it is impossible for the computer to find an alternative to your current guess. Your first guess is going to be five letters eliminated from possibility no matter what. You could start with the same guess every time and play it differently as many times as you want. The trick is to structure your guesses to avoid falling into a series of letter-variant rhymes, or a similar rabbit hole. The game is also good for learning obscure 5-letter-words.
So if you wanted to brag, you would say "I went from '_ _ _ _ _' to an answer in ten guesses" or whatever.
