From the very first track, I could tell we were back in my high school at the turn of the Millennium. Reminiscent of Incubus, Alien Ant Farm, Boy Hits Car, etc. Plus one or two flashes of emo/post-hardcore growl like Taproot, or off-kilter flourish like Korn.
I can also tell the band was founded or co-founded by the drummer.
I enjoyed it from the beginning, but after a few songs it blurred together and I would have preferred a little more energy like the title track.

I tried. I like Pelican, ISIS, Khanate. I own records from this era of Hydra Head. This record is foundational to that sound, period of variously named music phenomena.
