Them Moose Rush. Really good progressive/post-rock out of Croatia. A little Fall of Troy, a little ATDI/Volta.

Tigers On Opium released the video for "Dark Electric" today. Trippy and witchy.

Still to this day the loudest concert I've ever been to--louder than the Melvins or High on Fire, louder than SunnO)))

It was so deafening and abrasive that it sent people (and these were people who came to see the Melvins!) running for the exits. The super-loud-ass Happy Mondays show I mentioned wasn't "good, cathartic loud" it was "incompetent sound guy loud". Loud enough that I could feel my internal organs being rearranged but it just sounded like complete shit

Genghis Tron are back! Diggin' the jam too. Like a slightly more chill cut from The Armed's Only Love.

More Tigers On Opium - they released a video for a live version of "I May Sound Like A Drunk... But I Feel Like A Matador" this morning. I miss seeing these guys live. I miss shows.

More new Portland metal from A//tar (usually stylized as "Alltar" as people and computers get confused by the slashes) - they released Live at the Ceremony of Sludge this morning, recorded at one of the last great pre-lockdown shows of 2020. (Yes these are more metal brunch folks, and yes some of these guys are also in Tigers On Opium). FFO: Neurosis, Cult of Luna, Amenra alltar.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-ceremony-of-sludge

I cannot say that I would be at their shows if I was living in the Pacific Northwest, but I do like the work of Reek Minds a whole bunch.

New Hippie Death Cult track "Red Meat Tricks" premiered today. Some more of Portland's finest Sabbath-worshiping riffs for your face.

They've been doing it for 30+ years and somehow I never really got into Eyehategod until this morning. I have no excuses. I'm going to be listening to this discography all day. (Here's a Spotify artist link.)

'What is this, some kind of cover of Metallica's One with a different name?', I thought idly until the fast kicked in and blew my head off. Decent.

New Red Fang! With an appropriately Red Fang-esque video! They really are the OK Go of metal bands.
I still prefer the video (and song actually) for "Wires", and honestly I don't know if they'll ever top it.

100% agreed. I've lost count of how many times I've watched that "Wires" video and I still laugh my ass off every time (and yeah it's an awesome song, while this new one is just "pretty good")
