I am hairdresser. It's a stupid name as I do not dress hair.
I plan on starting a script for a film adaptation of Gravity's Rainbow as an HBO mini-series.

Shalom. I am Ingrid Birdman. I am over the age of 13, and I agreed to the Terms of Service; thus, I am here. Also I can't stop eating my leftover Halloween candy. Thank you and God bless.

Hi. I am Black Vorta. I'm an engineer in Chicagoland, but I'm from the East Coast. The excellent DS9 reviews are what got me to post after years of lurking much of the site, so that's where the name comes from. I never spent much time in the old TI, sticking mostly to show and film reviews. I don't tend to post often since the commentariat usually covers the same feelings and thoughts in a good sized discussion. A real forum is a fantastic change of pace! Disqus was painful enough and then they broke it more and I just can't seem to navigate G+ and Facebook. I was worried that I would have to quit my little hobby of discussing pop culture soon, so I'm pretty happy that a place with some of my favorite posters has popped up.

Hello. I am Melancholic_Rodeo_Clown over there but over here character limits have forced my melancholia to envelop the entire rodeo. I live in Melbourne and my hobbies include binge drinking and crippling anxiety.

Hi, I was anyroses on the AV Club, but I recently changed my username to clytie, because I go by Anya IRL and I got a desk job and I know I'll get caught using the internet at work. I like drinking pina coladas and taking walking in the rain.

Hi I'm me
I mostly hang out in TV Club land. Occasionally poking in to other sections when I feel like I have a witty comment that applies. Or to complain about something.
I just joined to look at your ugly mugs, but then I realized I really miss posting on forums like this. God damn fucking disqus monopoly comments sections just don't cut it.

I prefer the young Marlon Brando. Really, I prefer women, but I would allow the young Brando to do whatsoever he pleased with/to me.

I'm the voice of Ron Howard, and I listened to myself when entering that video captcha you have to do to register for this forum!
Am I the first gimmick account to sign up? I'm signing up here as Ron Howard Voice because this really is my only account. Someone told me I was a shitty gimmick after going way out-of-character in the R.I.P. Roger Ebert Newswire, but what alternative did I have?
Interests and areas of talking-too-much: history and literature (master's degree), food, beer, travel, murder mysteries, sitcoms.

My name is Billy, and I'm an AV Club-oholic.
...Well, my name's not really Billy. I chose the internet alias "Billy Goat" way back in the 1990's for reasons which seem kind of lame now. For consistency's sake, I've used variations of "Billy Goat" on message boards ever since, including of course my AV Club alias, "William T. Goat Esq."
Originally from Boston, now living in Pittsburgh. I'm a former mathlete, creature effects geek, and aspiring filmmaker who spends a lot more time aspiring than doing.
I may write some TV reviews here.

Hello. I'm anon_user; right now, I'm a graduate student in bioinformatics. I lurked the Trek TV Club Classic reviews for a while, before finally deciding to sign up and start commenting in time for season 6 of DS9.

I had an ex whose mum and I spoke different languages and found it hard to communicate, except when it transpired that we both thought JRM was a dreamboat; she'd never seen the TV series of Gormenghast so we watched it together with subtitles for her benefit... good times.

I'm MissBeaHaven, and I'm posting in the "Introduction" thread because I always feel like I'm the presumptuous douche crashing a party if I don't. I'm relatively new to the AV Club, but I recognized the usernames here as "Folks Whose Commentary I Have Enjoyed", so I registered.
I have a background in hooptie-budget film making, writing, Improv theater, voice over work, and puppetry. I have these projects listed on my resume, but the manager at Steak N Shake didn't seem all that interested (Not even when I told him I once played a fry-cook in a skit, the narrow minded son of a bitch). Still, I like throwing it out there to remind myself I had dreams once too. You know how it is.
My captain of choice is Reynolds, as is my choice of aluminum foil.

I'm tragically ludicrous not ludicrously tragic (or tragically ludicrous not ludic since Disqus), and time zones- I live in Holland- means I post at weird times. But I suppose a board makes it a little easier for me to keep up? Maybe.

kphipps3000 Welcome! A bunch of us have noticed the quality of the content and comments on the AVClub have degraded recently, and we're thinking of starting our own website devoted to pop-culture (including but not limited to music, movies, classic and current television, books, games, and special events) reviews, write-ups, and analysis. INTERESTED? By the way, if you are the real Phipps, congrats on The Dissolve. The more I go there, the more that site grows on me.

Well, that's our master plan: To slowly grow on people.
THE DISSOLVE takes up all my time, and then some, but good luck. I'd be a reader.

I'm a long-time lurker/occasional commenter at AVClub. I've forgotten how many different commenting systems I've seen come and go and how many memes I've seen grow, flourish, and then disappear. In the past, I never had enough time to actively comment, and now that I have time, nuDisqus has rendered it too annoying to bother with.
I'm an unemployed lawyer in Phoenix who spends his time working out and applying to engineering jobs. I'm kind of a big deal.
