my version goes more like: fuck you damages, for turning ellen parsons into a fucking flowerpot who "doesn't do that anymore," because a woman should know her place, amirite, fellas?

what kind of ridiculous binary do we have use every time a woman is in a drama that it all comes down to biology-- i kept saying during the first mention of anemia, "don't be pregnant, don't be pregnant, you stupid fucking show..."

but there we were, "medicalizing" ellen's pregnancy, a pregnancy she may have planned for all we know (but not bloody likely) and using her female body as her physical downfall.

if a real live woman lawyer wanted to opt in or out of motherhood by whatever means, you couldn't pay me to give a shit. but the fooferaw perpetrated by tv fiction by way of the magical pregnancy that just happens without planning at oh-so-inconvenient-a time?-- was already done to patty. did ellen hear her story and plan her baby anyway? there was even a scene showing chris buying condoms (maybe he doesn't follow the directions on the box so well), so assuming he's the off-screen daddy could be wrong for 2 reasons: they broke up badly, and he may not in fact be the bio-dad anyway. no point in caring now.

lastly, how fucking stupid was michael? threatening a known hired assassin shows us that michael blew out a few too many brain cells-- or you know, that the writers are just as bad at wrapping up their series as chris was at wrapping up his johnson.
