I'm ridiculously proud that I won first place in a Star Wars trivia contest at Disney World's Star Wars Weekends back in 2005. It was knockout style (get a question wrong and you're gone). I won knowing that Zev Senesca was Rogue Two at the Battle of Hoth. My opponent guessed Wedge Antilles (he was Rogue Three). Good shot, Janson Wilford Brimley Explosion!!!!! |

Last night I put head/tail lights on my bike as well as a cargo rack. This involved many tiny washers and nuts, only one of which I dropped under the couch. Everything was in exactly the right place on the first attempt. My preferred method of cycle illumination is arrayed LEDs from light-up swag I acquire at conferences from corporate hospitality suites. |

. I also figured out how to play the intro guitar riff to "Don't Fear the Reaper", but this seems somewhat less practical than having a functional toilet. I'd say I was also proud to have figured this out, but it is too difficult for me to play well. I'm not sure what about this makes me less proud--the fact that I'm a shitty guitar player or that I'm too lazy to practice it more. Because it's actually not that difficult. |

At the dentist this morning my blood pressure was 106/68 despite not being in great shape. I don't even think this is technically an accomplishment aside from the fact I didn't drink coffee this morning and I don't smoke anymore.
Also why does my dentist take my blood pressure?

It's part of the total healthcare package. They're trying to get people some general-practice medicine any way they can to lower cost from specialists and emergency rooms. The dentist was also how my dad recently found out he had high blood pressure. |
