Douay-Rheims-Challoner I see you watched The Americans after all. What did you think of it? I loved it a great deal, and I thought this last season was so amusing, with Philip being so creative in avoiding to sleep with an underage girl (that prayer scene was so funny), Henry's disarming frankness, and Oleg's and Stan's lovesick saga. I found Paige's and Elizabeth's storyline so heartbreaking, and I can hardly wait to see where Nina's story goes. I didn't really understand the whole South African subplot, but I'll rewatch the whole season and I'll get it eventually. It's so long until the 4th season.

But to answer your question: No, actually, as 'Ten' in that title does not refer to a number, but a Japanese word meaning motion, I believe.

I've been meaning to watch this (the Western cut is on Netflix, and the much longer version is available on Viki.com) but I could never make up my mind which. I just did the Netflix cut for time considerations and practicality. It seems overall to do an admirable job of keeping the core plotlines and character arcs in coherent shape and maintaining a sense of narrative momentum, but you can certainly tell at times when side shading has been lost or you're getting an abridged version of events, and the Netflix version's 1.5 hour per episode runtime is slightly awkward. Those are pretty minor issues though on whole, it's quite engaging and enjoyable either way I'd imagine. |

How are you not watching Gundam IBO? It is on pace to be the best Gundam series. You're probably the first person to ever look at one of my monthly TV lists and ask why it isn't longer (as it turned out it was supposed to be, I'd forgotten to include Homeland and the Affair. Man Showtime dramas barely register when it comes time to make lists and I'm not even sure why.) To answer your question I have off and on done a full Gundam franchise watch but stalled on it a while back. IBO would be fairly late on that view (besides which, I have issues with Daisuki lately anyway.) |
