The fact there's even a discussion about the innate dsuperiority of felines over foolish, sloppy dogs is ridiculous. Think of it like this: dogs are Klingons, cats are Romulans. Sure, Klingons are useful and loyal, but Romulans are much more badass and have way cooler ships.
Consider my microphone dropped in a dramatic fashion.

I'm indifferent. I didn't like cats growing up because I think I'm allergic, but they always seem to like me. But dogs do too.
Give me a poll on owners though. I'll take cat owners over dog owners because cat owners don't try to take their pets every damn place they go.
