Oh yeah. I haven't seen that one either! My boss finds that horrifying. Also, I've never seen a Studio Ghibli movie and don't really have any interest in doing so. Princess Mononoke is my second favorite film of all time and one I can watch again and again. That said, if anime isn't particularly your thing, it could be a difficult sell. Still, I love any and all opportunities to recommend it. If we're talking about Studio Ghibli, The Castle of Cagliosto is an underappreciated great film.

Go SLOW you are truly a woman after my own heart. My entire concept is "not having seen any movies" and yet the only movie in that list I haven't seen is DARYL...and possibly Go if you're not talking about the one that had that one No Doubt song on the soundtrack.

That is indeed the Go I am referring to. Oh shit, I haven't seen Empire Records, either.

Paleu I’ve also never seen Die Hard. I’ve seen Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl, if that’s any substitute Over big lacunae include: • Kurosawa samurai films (with the exception of The Seven Samurai), also missing Ikiru• The Magnificent Ambersons
• Zodiac
• Various cool sixties/seventies movies I’d probably be into ( The Thomas Crown Affair, The Italian Job, The French Connection) • My Dinner with André• Nausicaä & the Valley of the Wind• Fight Club (though I think I’m about ten years too old for this one now) • A lot of horror classics ( Renaimator, Suspiria, Kwaidan) • Miller’s CrossingRecent AVC/Dissolve/TI favorites I’ve missed out on (but wanted to see and intend to catch up on): • Drive • Looper • Europa Report • The Immigrant and Two Days, One NightOnly seen in butchered, censored, mainland China form: • Lust, Caution

Talk of doing Bad Movie Week on occasion has brought up titles including:
Battlefield Earth (which opp and nude are doing next week) Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever
and as suggested by myself, Exorcist 2: The Heretic, as well as two under Musical Week/"Bad Movie" week At Long Last Love The Apple

Next Saturday: Battlefield Earth! I am stoked! I cannot wait to finally see John Travolta looking like the guitarist from Korn while space adventuring it up! It's going to be brilliant!

Even delirious on flu medicine and listening to the Rifftrax, I barely made it through the last hour of Battlefield Earth. Best of luck to those attempting the journey. I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone.

Jean-Luc Lemur You must see Lust, Caution in its original, complete form . An astonishing movie, maybe Ang Lee's best. Certainly my favourite of his.

Oh, I'm seeing a screening of Spotlight tonight at my school, right when Battlefield Earth starts. Sorry. Next week!

The sex scenes are the best part of the movie. And that is not a joke. I think Ang Lee's strongest points were made in those sex scenes.

Attention: Battlefield Earth at 6pm PST/9pm EST tonight. (Normal time for non-Americans) For serious this time. I loved the book when I was in 6th grade so I was curious to see it when it finally came out. Ignoring all the bad press I convinced some friends, including another fan of the book to see it in the theater. Dear god it was awful. I won't get into it much until you guys finish but trust me in that the book, while pretty bad in retrospect ,was infinitely better. It was like they took all the worst parts of the book, the stupid names, the anti-psychology, the nonexistent plot and amped it all up to 11.

Fuck that shitty stupid movie. I cannot even imagine how much more nonsensical the movie is if you have not read the book. The book was stupid but at least you knew what was going on.

Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, Inception, The Dark Knight, Psycho, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, ET, Alien(s), Jaws, Die Hard... Anyway, I had friends over last night but will try to make the next one! I have many many movie gaps! • Fight Club (though I think I’m about ten years too old for this one now) Can confirm this. I saw Fight Club for the first time a couple months ago, and was surprised by how passionately I hated it. It's not worth your time.

It's not worth your time. i saw fight club in the theater (w/o having read it) and was really into the 1st half w/marla and the meetings, and the actual fight club-- when things took a turn that i suppose will be spoilage, i lost interest, and there are aspects that made me feel the plot was more conducive to being a 44 min ep of outer limits. that being said, my complaints were seemingly common enough that my followup reading made me feel like i hadn't watched it deeply enough b/c buddhism. however-- the same was said about the matrix trilogy, and again, that whole business was too long by half even going into it with more well-founded expectations. tl;dr: fight club needed more fight club

I missed Battlefield Earth for hanging out with friends and beginning plans to start a Youtube channel together with them. Seems like a good tradeoff. But I will make one of these eventually.
