I'm going to try to make a few of these, too.
What's the next film in the schedule?

Can we pleeeease watch Night of the Comet next? There was some talk of Indiana Jones, but if that doesn't happen Night of the Comet it is! Or if Indiana Jones is going down next Night of the Comet can happen after that.

Can we pleeeease watch Night of the Comet next? Is "Night of the Comet" the "Daddy would've got us Uzi's" one (which I like a lot) or the wine thing (which I liked, but not as much)?

Night of the Comet has been on my to-watch list for a while and I’d be totally down for it.

Did anyone watch The Night of the Comet on Saturday? I got the DVD from the library, because I'm an old and prefer my digital rendering to stream through an HDMI cable from the code source - local to my vicinity. My wife nixed the idea. She got too much of it after High School, which involved continuity error drinking games - apparently.
Anyhow, before this flourish of group activity flounders, I hope to present the following film for a Saturday viewing. Mayhaps late Friday night while the fools are still working hard? If not, then I'll settle for an April 2 viewing of, you guessed it, Americathon (1979). Oh, wait, you haven't been following my brief notes on this site and don't know that I've been stumping this film since first viewing it in 2013, despite having grown up during the advent of cable television when its licensing to HBO made it difficult to miss (first wave cable OG who didn't have it because: Lower Middle Class). Weel, let's just ignore my rich fulminations then and get on board with viewing this adequate delight from 1979, shall we?
Truly, it is a danger for me to promote this film so heavily. Place so many expectations out of reach for this "alright" comedy. It's inevitable that will yield comeuppance. But, this is a filmed entertainment worth watching.

If you'd like to watch "Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course" for some reason, we're going to be watching it over at our brand new xat, on February 10th at 6pm PST/9pm ES/whatever your timezone is. Link here: xat.com/Mystery_Science_Theater_3001

A few of my blind spots :
Shawshank Redemption : Is it really that good ? Godfather Trilogy : I'll come around to it someday Lord of the Rings Trilogy : the books were boring enough as they were Forrest Gump : no interest whatsoever Lawrence of Arabia Ghostbusters/Caddyshack : I didn't like Groundhog day, and I'm afraid the other legendary Bill Murray comedies won't do it for me either Casablanca Apocalypse Now Any Mad Max : although I now regret not seeing the last one on the big screen ...
Also every superhero movies since X-Men First Class (the movie that made me decide to abandon that genre altogether), with a few exceptions : Dark Knight Rises (pretty cool), Amazing Spiderman (meh), Gardians of the Galaxy (meh), and Doctor Strange (the visuals were nice)

Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, Inception, The Dark Knight, Psycho, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, ET, Alien(s), Jaws, Die Hard... Two years later update: finally saw Goodfellas, which wasn't on the list but seems worth retroactively adding to it. Of the movies on this list, in the past two years I've watched...just the first half of Pirates, before turning it off.

I've still only seen half of Jurassic Park... and a couple years ago, I hadn't seen any more than clips of it.
it's pretty amazing how much some movies permeate the pop culture consciousness, as I kinda knew every story beat without having seen more than maybe 2 minute clips at most?
great movie, definitely holds up really well. I really should finish watching it.

Since apparently there is news of it being remade, I have never seen the Princess Bride.
