Bill Murray aside, The Frighteners is a much better movie than Ghostbusters.

Bill Murray aside, The Frighteners is a much better movie than Ghostbusters. It's my favorite Peter Jackson movie. I won't say best, because I haven't seen one or two of his early ones, but it's for sure my favorite. And I really like the LOTR movies.

Are these quotes directly from the play or are they original to the movie?

I never comprehended why Steven Soderbergh is so revered a filmmaker. With rare exceptions, it always seems like he's working at about 75% of his talents.

That Rise of Skywalker movie did not retroactively ruin my childhood.

Alita: Battle Angel was not merely a good movie, but it was a good movie made better by giving its lead big anime eyes.

I like the The Addams Family movie more than Addams Family Values and I don't understand why everyone likes the second one so much. I mean, it's perfectly fine but not better than the first one. Was it on TV a lot? Is this like a Hocus Pocus thing?

I think a big part of it is we don't have the Fester-isn't-Fester-no-wait-he-is thing, plus Joan Cusack is a more fleshed out villain than Dan Hedaya was.

There's a lot less of Christopher Lloyd's endless and rather tiresome mugging for the camera as well. Don't get me wrong I generally like Lloyd but he takes it way, way too far in the first one and tips over into insufferability very quickly. We can all agree Wednesday is awesome though, right?

Although, it is the second TNMT movie, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze" that contains the "Ninja Rap" by Vanilla Ice, but they were both released in 1991, so I understand the confusion. "Addams Family Values" has "Addams Family (Whoomp!)" by Tag Team, a barely concealed rehash of their one hit.

Sometimes you only have the cassette soundtrack of one Ninja Turtle movie and totally miss out on these sorts of cultural milestones. Where do we stand on "Same Song" by Digital Underground from the Dan Aykroyd joint, "Nothing But Trouble?" It's music video is...something.

Everything about this is insane. Dan Aykroyd and Eazy-E both making cameos. Tupac as a Zula King doing a guest verse. Goddamn...

The song slaps. I had not seen the video before. I guess at least they didn't put Dan Aykroyd in blackface. The movie is an atrocity. I remember seeing in theaters as a 10 year old and not liking it. I did have to watch when ever I saw it on TV, though. Just to remind myself of the horrors mankind is capable of.

I am always surprised when I see the DVD for Nothing But Trouble that it doesn't feature Tupac on the cover, because I would have thought that might get people who knew nothing about the movie to consider buying it. I did recently watch the GoodBadFlicks exploration of the movie, and while I cannot imagine it ever being a great movie, I do agree that if it had been able to keep its R-rating, and maybe replaced Chevy Chase with an actor who actually wanted to be in the movie, it might have been a decent watch.

MC Hammer was also on the first TMNT soundtrack with the absolute banger of a track, "This is What We Do." As someone whose favorite tv shows at age three was Hammerman and, uh, ate those Ninja Turtles gummy snacks (I think I watched the show too, but I was nowhere near as much a fan), this would have blown my mind. The Hammerman Theme song was also a banger.

Snake Eyes may possibly belong in De Palma's Top Five, if not at least Top Six or Seven.

Snake Eyes may possibly belong in De Palma's Top Five, if not at least Top Six or Seven. I can't think of this movie without remembering the running joke my friends made after watching this movie where we would give an option, create a bunch of increasingly crazy consequences, and then be like "now you got Snake Eyes!"

Muppet Christmas Carol has supplanted Die Hard as the ironic hipster's default Christmas movie of choice Now I'm glad I didn't post "I enjoy Muppet Christmas Carol (which we watched yesterday) and Muppet Treasure Island more than the original three Muppet movies".
