I saw two rather large deer in my apartment complex. I've lived there a year and a half, and have never seen deer. There's been a lot of cutting down woods near me ( ), so I wonder if they are running out of habitat.

Yesterday: A black person protesting the Clinton rally, carrying a "Blacks for Trump" sign
Today: A rather large coyote that ran in front of me, across a major street. It came from an area of very expensive houses, and crossed to a side with houses that are even more expensive. Hope everyone keeps their small pets inside.

I saw two rather large deer in my apartment complex. I've lived there a year and a half, and have never seen deer. There's been a lot of cutting down woods near me ( ), so I wonder if they are running out of habitat. There were about seven deer all curled up sleeping on the grass in my neighbor's front yard when I went out to the gym at 5-fucking-30 in the morning today. I was like, "Hm. I should mention that in the Things I Saw Outside thread." And then I thought, "But these deer are here every day. That's not very interesting." But now it turns out I need to stop taking my deer for granted!

Yesterday: A black person protesting the Clinton rally, carrying a "Blacks for Trump" sign Are you sure it wasn't a white guy in blackface? Pretty sure! Since traffic was horrendous trying to move through that area with 11,000+ people trying to get in to see Hillary Clinton, I was stuck for several minutes at the corner by these 7-8 Trump supporters. A black guy carrying a Trump sign was startling enough to draw my attention. Maybe Trump's Black Friend travels around to Hillary events holding this sign?

Driving along I-16 from Macon to Savannah, I passed by a pretty excellent boat of car- someone was towing an old Lotus (looked to be from ~1980 or so) on a trailer, that had had its wheel wells filled in and a propeller attached at the rear (or 'stern', if you speak boat). The brand mark on the back of the car had been altered to read " FLOTUS". Once in downtown Savannah, I saw a few homeless guys on the steps of a church, having a sing-a-long to the Misfit's "Last Caress".

A bleary, dreary morning, with rain falling and misery in the air. On my drive to work I pass a dog park, though, and this morning someone was walking his wiener dog from the park to his house across the street. Just as I drove by, he let the wiener dog off its leash, and I was treated to the sight of a jubilant wiener dog bounding freely across a leaf-strewn yard. Wiener dogs in full flight are never not funny, even on super-shitty mornings!

The neighbors' little white kitten/cat came to say hi to my daughter and I today as we got into our car. She licked my hand and pushed at both of us for pets, and even considered getting in the car with us until I gently shooed her away.
That made me feel slightly better.

A TV reporter from a station I didn't even know had a news division conducting man on the street reactions to the election. I did not provide my real name but I assume my commentary wasn't interesting enough to air anyway.

A still-smoldering burned out car crashed into a tree. No police. No fire. No body either, which was nice.

A man on a cherry picker that was refusing to start up its engine outside my office. He kept pushing the button and each time the machine would give out a whine - like a cat in mild peril. He did this every 30 seconds for 2 hours as if it was going to magically fix itself. Holy shit, that was annoying.

Six barn cats at the dairy farm I stopped by on my way back to the office this morning. It's a spectacularly fantastic day, the kind you imagine all the people in LL Bean catalogs live in year-round, and the six cats were all living the dream, lolling around in the sun in the parking lot next to the farm office. A few of them came over to get some skritches when I pulled in, but when I left the shop they were all back in place, warming their bones. If not for the fact that most of them were missing chunks of their ears, I'd suggest that's the kind of simple life I wish I could live for a few days. Food, naps, skritches, freedom to roam the meadows around the farm... But I'm sure my first day as a barn cat would involve dying in a fight with a rabid raccoon or something, so never mind.

I saw a fox walking through the parking lot at work a couple of weeks ago, and forgot to post about it on this thread until today. It was a pretty bedraggled-looking fox, though, hope it's doing OK.

When we got back from church today we left the stroller (which is pink with a black canopy) at the foot of the five steps up to the kitchen door, which is glass. Just now I got up and walked past that door and almost had a heart attack because out of the corner of my eye it looked like there was a black-haired demon child standing at the foot of the steps in the rain looking up at me.

A "bunnies for sale" sign at the foot of the driveway of one of the houses I pass on my way to work. The Cute Thread has tried its darnedest, but I have not been swayed. I will not be buying a bunny.

For the second time yesterday I drove by an antique/flea market type store called "The Picker Knows", and both times I've thought in full 30's radio narrator voice "Who knows what lurks in the attics of grandmas? THE PICKER KNOWS!"
