So rumour has it that the steam summer sale starts tomorrow. Anyone hoping for anything particular?
Personally I'm hoping either Rise of the Tomb Raider or Just Cause 3 finally see a decent markdown as I'd like to pick up one of them to play after I'm xcom'd out, sadly since neither has seen a decent discount yet I'm guessing we're looking at 25-33% max which may make me just get Witcher 3 finally instead.
Other than that there's a couple short games I'd really like to see on a deeper discount. Firewatch, The Day of the Tentacle remastered edition, Magicka 2 and some other stuff.

I thought the title of this thread was "Steam Summer Sale (on my wallet)" and got excited.

Ditto on Rise of the Tomb raider. I completely forgot about the Steam Summer sale and bought Far Harbor full price yesterday. Oh well it probably isn't going to be on sale anyway.

Things that are on my wishlist, which isn't a whole lot.
Although some sort of ultra ridiculous X-Com 2 discount would be extremely welcome.

Sale is active!
And goddamn it, they always do this thing where you "get free trading cards for looking at your queue! Oh, sorry, you already did your queue this morning before the sale started, tough luck!"
GODDAMN IT, I should know better than to work through the queue before a sale, but still, that fucking sucks!
EDIT - They're having the usual slow-loading and accidental account log-out issues for the start of a sale.

Nothing too exciting for me on day one, already have most of the stuff I'd want. This is probably a good thing though as I've resolved to spend less money this time.

X-COM 2 might be nice on sale. I have tons of Skyrim to mess around with, though, so I should probably not mess with it.

Since I just uninstalled all of my games (Steam and otherwise) on Monday to try and focus on creative work, I should probably just ignore this sale completely...but that probably won't happen.

I've got games I picked up years ago I still haven't played, so I won't be buying any more. Well, maybe I'll just browse...

Are the Gothic or Risen games any good? They are cheap. Which is why I'm asking.

haha goddamnit...
Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3 are both on sale.
JC3 is 50% off alone, Rise of TR 35% off... but if you buy both it's a better discount.
You're killing me steam.

I got Witcher and Witcher 2 for like, $7 total. Are they any good? I know 3 has its fans.

The Long Dark is at -66% today and frankly it's a steal. Really great (though punishing) game. For that price I encourage you all to grab it.

Has anyone played Space Engineers? I swore off Early Access games after Starbound, but if it's good enough I might be willing to make an exception...
The idea of Minecraft in space sounds fun, as long as I can play it single player also and not deal with assholes...I love "making my own fun" within the bounds of a game.

I'm interested in Sins of a Solar Empire (rebellion) or GalCiv III. Which one is prettier? Which is the most fun? I know Sins is mostly multiplayer, but i'll probably just play single against some AIs. I'm interested in the game play, but also in just zooming in and around the galaxy, watching ships shoot at each other and stuff. I remember spending stupid amounts of time in GC2 just building ships. TBH, i can wait a year for GC III to go on deeper sale. I'm in no rush to actually play either, which is why the pretty factor is a higher concern.

I haven't played the newest sins, GalCiv3 is very pretty though and the ship editor is fun as always so if you enjoyed GC2 you'll enjoy it. I still find their version of combat fundamentally boring but I still enjoy playing it.
Will probably pick up Disgaea PC today as even if I don't finish playing it I'd love to encourage them to keep porting those.

I mostly enjoyed the explore and expand parts of GC2, and it seemed close in spirit to Master of Orion(s). I should probably just wait unit it gets super cheap - I have Civ 5 to scratch any 4x itches, and still have Skrim and (will have) fallout 4, and some other games, that I can finish up while I wait.

So a friend of mine worked on the art for this game, House of the Dying Sun - a first-person space shooter with VR support that is currently in Early Access: House of the Dying SunIt's been getting great reviews so far (91% positive) so check it out if you like space shooters. I don't usually endorse Early Access purchases, but this one looks pretty good. (Sale price is only 10% off, but regular price is also only $20.)

I bought a bunch of stuff I don't need per usual, because I am terrible with money, those games being:
Legends of Eisenwald (Tactical turn based medieval RPG with world exploration elements) GTA: San Andreas (because I had never actually played it, was sort of it in a 90s aesthetic sort of mood and it was $3) Magical Eyes: Red Is For Anguish (Animu mystery/detective visual novel) 1979 Revolution: Black Friday (Telltale style story focused game about the Iranian Revolution) Gloria Victis (Mount and Blade meets a faction based small scale MMO)

I will put in a plug for Valkyria Chronicles again as I see it's on sale.
I'm suspecting they won't localize the new ps4 one this year due to the psp one not selling well (they didn't localize 3) but you never know. I'd love to see 2 on steam at least.

I've been craving some action RPG for the past few weeks, and I don't have the hardware to run Fallout 4. So I picked up The Witcher, The Witcher II, and the first Dark Souls for a total of $10.
Didn't realize that Dead Souls is practically unplayable with just mouse and keyboard, and I don't have a controller (though I guess it's finally time to get one).
I've heard great things about the story and world-building of The Witcher series, but I just felt bored out of my mind in the first hour of gameplay and found the combat system clunky and unsatisfying.
I'm feeling a bit burned. I hoping The Witcher picks up -- I know you can't judge that kind of game while you're still in the part that giving you tutorial instructions, but I'm not excited to fire it up again. It'll feel like doing work in order to get to a more fun experience.
