Yep. Tis Alphonso Capwnicus, Esq.
(Again.)
Felt nostalgic. So I came back.
Help me achieve my quest of 100, so I can revel in the secrets of TMI again.

Yeah.

whaaaaa.....Antman was great!......to each their own. I mean, sure... to each their own. I'm not judging anyone who loved it. I love lots of dumb shit, so my not loving something is probably an indicator of it not being dumb! But man, Ant-Man (or Antman, or however you're supposed to spell it) was the Marvel movie that finally drove home to me that, since I have no vested interest in any of the Marvel entities from the comic books, the MCU feels like it's basically just a machine that's churning out origin stories that exist solely to build the viewer's interest in the sequels. Nothing ever seems to happen in any of the movies other than setting up a teaser for the next one. For the post-origin-story movies, it's seems like a lot of wheel-spinning toward unimpressively-staged CGI battles and then... a hook to tease the next sequel. And, I mean, yeah, that's kind of what comic books do, so it makes sense. But as a standalone movie experience, the whole Marvel thing leaves me cold. (I think none of this is helped by my dislike of the aesthetics of most of the Marvel hero costume design.) But again, I like plenty of stuff that other people find awful! That's what makes a horse race, as my late step-grandfather apparently liked to say.

Please tell us about the stuff you like that other people find awful. I prefer episodic television to serialized shows, (which probably explains a lot of my annoyance with the entire MCU construct...) so I hold "Law & Order" (OG) as the highest standard of quality TV. I love Murder, She Wrote! Gunsmoke! I own the entire series of Matlock on DVD and binge-watched it from start to finish! I watch a ton of televised sports and prefer meaningless early-season games to late-season playoff-race contests and actual postseason games. I barely ever watch movies at all, because I'm an old lady who spends her free time doing needlepoint and find two hours of actual narrative harder to keep up with while I'm stitching than one of those aforementioned meaningless sporting events. I'm basically not even as sophisticated as the stereotypical audience for CBS procedurals (which, coincidentally, I love)! Programming aimed at septuagenarians hits me right in the sweet spot! In short, I don't think the people making Marvel movies should be very worried about losing me as their audience. If it's not working for me, they're likely doing something right.

Are you going to make all 100 posts solely in this thread? Because I think that if you post elsewhere, it shouldn't count.

Fun Fact: if you punch a child in colorado, it isn't illicit, but quite the opposite, in fact.
They give you $35 bucks, and a t shirt.
It is how I make extra spending cash on weekends.

*notices that it is only at 10 posts* This is going to take really fucking long. Goddamn it. You need to break these posts up. Have a one-sentence cap on each one. I mean, if you'd started a new post at each line break so far, you'd be up to something like 21 already.

Would you also agree, Al, that Antman is false advertising because he can also grow in size and so the title of the film should have been Ant-Controlling Size Change Man? Because once you hit 100 posts, you'll be able to see the thread I've made on the TMI Board where I announce that I'm boycotting all future Antman films until they change his name.

What is the square root of 65? The answer is "math is stupid, and I am not good at it " Personally, I prefer "what is the square root of 69", which is, of course, "8 something", because I am puerile in my own fashion.
