Time Bobby 3? I'm kind of sick of Fievel... The first one worked because it was unexpected, and it was an order of magnitude funnier than the second (at least, based on how much I laughed at each). It would take a lot to get me to listen to part 3, and I (eventually) listen to just about every episode of CB!B!. It started out slow and predictable, more of the same, but the ending was fantastic. Like top 20 episodes fantastic...

Since this means very little to the rest of the world, I have to brag a little about it here: through an odd series of events, I managed to acquire one of a handful of Traci Rearden t-shirts in existence for my girlfriend (the Inspectress being the one who go me into Comedy Bang Bang in the first place): In related, thread appropriate news: holy shit, was CBB #300 ever fantastic. . .

Two podcasts that I highly recommend: EconTalk - I don't care about business and I care little for economics, but this is more of a "anything we find interesting and educational" podcast, and the guests Russ Roberts has on are often fascinating. Start with the show's Top 10 Episodes of 2013. The BBC Radio 4 Program (or, ahem, "Programme") The Philosopher's Arms. It's a live discussion of interesting philosophical quandaries set in a pub. The episode that first got me interested considered the hypothetical of a guy who gets kicked out of a bar for being a jerk, but turns out to have had a brain tumor that was making him act weird. He's had the tumor removed and wants back in the pub. Should he still be held responsible for his behavior?

Rearden has more staying power than Wompler. At this point, I like Wompler's entourage more than Wompler herself.

Maltin on Movies is a ton of fun. I loved both episodes so far. Just two really cool, friendly, fun guys talking about movies they love and do not love.

Lauren Lapkus' podcast started today, "With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus." First episode is Reardon/PFT. Haven't listened yet but freaking out.

Wow, I have come a long way from just suggesting MBMBAM!
Here's what I listen to now. I'm actively trying not to add anything new unless it's absolutely brilliant because I listen to too many podcasts:
Call Your Girlfriend RISK! We Hate Movies The Adventure Zone Bunker Buddies (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) Comedy Bang Bang The Dead Authors Podcast (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) Dear Sugar Radio Distraction Pieces with Scroobius Pip Firewall and Iceburg The Flop House (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) How Did This Get Made? (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) Jordan, Jesse GO! Judge John Hodgman The X-Files Files (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) The Moth Podcast MBMBAM Pop Culture Happy Hour Savage Lovecast Sawbones This American Life (Listened to selectively depending on the topic) Bullseye

Updated listening list:
Comedy Bang Bang - regularly With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus - depending on guests/comments Maltin on Movies with Baron Vaughn - depending on subject
-
We Hate Movies - only when I know the movie WTF - when I'm interested in the interview subject and Podmass says Maron wasn't too overbearing
-
The Bugle - every once in a while Radiolab - every once in a while FanGraphs - every once in a while

[Person's name]!' on Twitter and then untold numbers of people retweet it and say something like, 'Wow, Maron really articulated my feelings about this better than I could have done myself'. Guy really has a way with words. (He has hosted some good interviews, though).

I think I've probably contributed to this thread before, but I'm pretty sure I've added to my list since then, so:
Shows I'm listening to when new episodes come out: Welcome To Night Vale This American Life Lexicon Valley On The Media Stuff You Missed In History Class Yo, Is This Racist?
Shows that I'm attempting to catch up on despite being years behind on: The Thrilling Adventure Hour Comedy Bang! Bang! Professor Blastoff

I don't know a lot about podcasts, so I'm just throwing this out there. Has there been a fictional "Welcome to Nightvale"-esque podcast about superheroes yet?

The closest thing I can think of is The Thrilling Adventure Hour's "Captain Laserbeam" segments, but those are more a parody of old-timey radio superhero dramas. John Dimaggio is in it, which is pretty great. TAH in general is pretty funny, and kinda similar to Welcome to Night Vale (I think they might have actually toured together; I know they have a live crossover episode that they did together that I haven't listened to because it costs actual money), so that's the closest I have to a good suggestion.

So yesterday's CBB included Michael Ableson who got his appearance on the show by donating to Origin Story. The guests he chose to come on with him were PFT, Andy Daly, and Lauren Lapkus, which is just a tremendous list, so good job on putting that together!
That got me thinking, though, who would you choose if you were allowed to bring on any 3 CBB regulars?
While PFT, Lapkus, and Daly are no-brainers, I've always wanted to see what would happen if Gino and Wompler were ever on together. After that, Reardon would seem to be the natural fit, but I would probably go with PFT, as three bickering teenagers could get a little old.

The MBMBaM show was amazing and hilarious, of course! The brothers were in fine form, there were many excellent goofs and some very funny audience questions as well. I really hope they put this one up for everyone to listen to because y'all fellow fans (looking at you, songstarliner, ๐ช silly buns and Paleu ) need to hear about the Donut Thief and the Sock Pervert. I think both @iffy and I were laughing pretty much the whole way through. Sawbones opened up and that was great as well, talking about patent medicine. If you get a chance to see them live, definitely do it. There's also kinds of visual stuff you're missing out on just listening to the live ones: Griffin getting up on occasion in disgust, Travis' almost constant side-eye, and Justin's impressive drinking abilities. I got to meet everyone, so here are pictures! Also in this photo: a good friend/ex of mine, who I have been unable to convince to join the TI/AVC. That jerk! I am amused by Justin's astonished face in this one. i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/furthertofly2/photo%202_zpsqcbmcwmg.jpgNo clue what Travis is doing in the background here.

Since moving and now working from home, I don't have commute time to listen to podcasts, so it's whittled down to We Hate Movies, Flophouse, and YTU2TM whenever they manage to release an episode.
But, I did have alot of road trips for work lately and once I'd caught up on everything, I started re-listening to History of Rome, starting with Julius Caesar. I'm finding it hard to stop again, though I think I'll go through the five good emperors era and call it a day.
Unfortunately, I couldn't keep with Revolutions. Made it through the American revolution and then quit.

I finally wore down my massive backlog of podcasts in the last couple weeks (At one point I had about a years worth of Stuff You Missed in History Class), so I've been trying on some new podcasts to fill in the gaps. I'm open to bribes for becoming a fan of your favorite show.
