UGA's backup QB who played Florida and has one year of eligibilty left just announced that he's transfering, big whoop. I also see that Richt has said he is open to recruiting UGA players.
I'm not sure of the degree to which I hope UGA fails hard next year.

Now I'm hearing that Georgia's OC and DC will be leaving also. Which brings up the rumor that Kirby will bring Muschamp with him.

ACC Championship: Clemson vs UNC. A great quarterback matchup. Marquise Williams had 224 yards passing with three touchdowns, rushing for an additional 81 yards and another touchdown; and Deshaun Watson threw for 289 and three touchdowns as well as rushing for 131 yards and two more, both had an interception. The game came down to a controversial onside kick, that was called offsides, yet on reply was shown not to have a player offsides and had to be redone. Although the first attempt was recovered by the Tar Heels, the Tigers recovered it the second time and ran out the clock, winning 45-34 SEC Championship: Alabama vs Florida. Florida actually lead in the first half for a while until Derrick Henry ran it in before the end of the half. Henry had 189 yards as well. The Florida offense took anemic and the Tide had no problems with the gators in the second half, winning 29-15. Big Ten Championship: Iowa vs Michigan State. On paper this was Iowa all the way, with C.J. Beathard out throwing Connor Cook 216 to 191. The Spartan's running team ran for 174 yards with six rushers, but it was the last big drive at the end, with L.J. Scott lunging for the end zone, sticking the ball over the line with 27 seconds left, snatching victory 16-13. Take a look: youtu.be/P3BqPwidXbMPAC-12 Championship: Stanford vs USC. Christians McCaffrey's name has been popping up all year. He ran for 207 yards and a touchdown and even threw a touchdown pass to quarterback Kevin Hogan (who had 144 yards passing and touchdown of his own). The Cardinal wins 41-22 Baylor @ Texas. As rough as Charlie Strong's year has been, he can say that he beat Oklahoma and he can say they beat Baylor. Quarterback Tyrone Swoopes threw for 151 yards and a touchdown as the Longhorns win 23-17, possible saving Strong's job. Temple @ Houston. Temple's quarterback P.J. Walker threw for 287 yards, buit it was Houston's running game, lead by Greg Ward, Jr. who had 148 yards to help the cougars beat the Owls 24-13. West Virginia @ Kansas State wide receiver Kody Cook took over for the injured Joe Hubener and threw for 121 yards, but it was a 97 yard kickoff return by Morgan Burns that put the Wildcats ahead 24-23. Bowling Green @ Northern Illinois. Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns to help the Falcons beat the Huskies, 34-17, winning the MAC Championship In the polls: The Playoff Committee had no surprises for us. The Four whoa re in are Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State, and Oklahoma. The rest of the top ten: Iowa, Stanford, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida State, and UNC. The AP poll top ten was identical with the exception of switching Iowa and Stanford. Who needs a coach?: Louisiana- Monroe, BYU's Bronco Mendenhall headed to Virginia. Bowling Green's coach Dino Babers left to go to Syracuse Who has a new coach: D.J. Durkin, Defensive Coordinator for Michigan will coach for Maryland, Mark Richt hired by Miami, Barry Odom promoted from Defensive Coordinator to head coach at Missouri, Memphis has hired Arizona State offensive coordinator Mike Norvell, as stated above Bronco Mendenhall is now at Virginia. Will Muschamp has been hired by South Carolina. Bowling Green hired Mike Jenks, assistant from Texas Tech Steve Sarkisian filed a suit against USC on Monday, saying the school wrongfully terminated him Oct. 12. According to the suit, Sarkisian alleges he was fired without the university accommodating his efforts to seek treatment for his disability. Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson were named as the three finalists for the 2015 Heisman Trophy. Next week is the Army/Navy game and I am going to give a Bowl game breakdown on all bowls.

BTW, everyone here thought it was hilarious that Rich Rodriguez turned down the South Carolina job and is staying at U of Arizona. Apparently that job was so horrible to him that he'd rather stay on as a football coach at a basketball school.

Most reports i see is we never even offered Rich Rod. Also not willing to pony up? No way Rich Rod is worth much more than the 2 mill he's making at Arizona. Herman was clearly never leaving Houston and is definitely waiting on that Texas job. Smart is the only question in there as I'm not 100% sure we would've gotten him without UGA's inviolment but it wouldn't have been because of money

Coaching Carousel: BYU hired former Oregon State assistant head coach Kalani Sitake as head coach. Georgia Southern has hired Colorado State defensive coordinator Tyson Summers as coach. Dennis Franchione is retiring from Texas State. Ball State head coach Pete Lembo has resigned to take a job at Maryland as an assistant head coach
Arizona vs New Mexico GILDAN NEW MEXICO BOWL Anu Solomon threw for 329 yards, two touchdowns and rushed for another. Scooby Wright had two sacks and 11 tackles. After the game he announced his intent to enter the NFL draft. New Mexico quarterback Lamar Jordan rushed for three touchdowns and threw a 92-yard touchdown pass to Delane Hart-Johnson before leaving in the third quarter with a knee injury. Arizona was able to hold New Mexico's running back Jhurell Pressley to 75 rushing yards and no touchdowns. Arizona wins 45-37.
BYU vs Utah ROYAL PURPLE LAS VEGAS BOWL The Cougars couldn't have had a worse first quarter. They started off with a fumble, which lead to a touchdown. Then Tanner Mangum threw three interceptions, each of which led to a touchdown, and then another fumble, which game the Utes a 35-0 lead in the first quarter. BYU mounted a comeback, scoring 28 unanswered points to come within one score with 3:23 left in the game, but Utah didn't give them a chance to get the ball back, winning 35-28
Appalachian State vs Ohio RAYCOM MEDIA CAMELLIA BOWL Ohio lead the game for the first three quarters of the game, but in the fourth quarter, Appalachian State scored three touchdowns to take the lead. Ohio wasn't out, scoring a safety and a field goal to take a one point lead with 1:47 left, but the Mountaineers marched 73 yards to set up a Zach Matics 23 Yard Field Goal as time expired. 31-29
San Jose State vs Georgia State AUTONATION CURE BOWL It was all about the fourth quarter. The Panthers scored a safety and a touchdown to pull ahead by three, but the Spartans scored two touchdowns to win 27-16.
Arkansas State vs Louisiana Tech R+L CARRIERS NEW ORLEANS BOWL Former Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel threw for 458 yards and three touchdowns. Kenneth Dixon had 215 yards from scrimmage and scored four times to help the Bulldogs win, 47-28.
Western Kentucky vs South Florida MIAMI BEACH BOWL Brandon Doughty threw for 461 yards and three touchdowns as the Hilltoppers overcame an early Bulls lead. Although they punted on first and goal at the South Florida 6 and I'm not sure why. But USF made a game of it. Bulls quarterback Quinton Flowers threw for 273 yards, but Western Kentucky won 45-35
Akron vs Utah State FAMOUS IDAHO POTATO BOWL Robert Stein kicked 46-yard field goal with 8:15 remaining in the fourth quarter. He had three in the game which gave the Zips an edge that was able to resist a late game rally by Utah state to pull within two, but recovered an onside kick to win 23-21.
Temple vs Toledo MARMOT BOCA RATON BOWL. The quarterbacks were fairly evenly matched, with PJ Walker throwing for 236 yards for Temple and Philip Ely for 285 for Toledo, but it was Toledo's defense that made the difference, blitzing often and not letting Temple's offense move the ball. Toledo wins 32-17.
Elsewhere around the league: Ole Miss defensive tackle and gravity expert Robert Nkemdiche has been suspended for the Sugar Bowl and is declaring for the draft. Suspended Florida quarterback Will Grier intends to transfer, making him the sixth Gator quarterback to transfer in three years. AT Texas A&M, both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray, both quarterbacks, have decided to transfer. Is Kevin Sumlin on the hot seat?
Next Week: 16 more Bowl games which I will be posting from my home town

Indiana vs. Duke- New Era Pinstripe Bowl. The game was tied at the half with 17, and then tied at 41 at the end of regulation. It was a tale of two field goals. Duke's Ross Martin kicked a 36 yarder, but the Hoosiers' Griffin Oakes missed a 38-yard attempt that went over the pole, which is not reviewable, and was ruled out, giving Duke the win 44-41.
Tulsa vs. Virginia Tech- Camping World Independent Bowl. Tulsa's quarterback Dane Evans threw for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns and Virginia Tech's Michael Brewer threw for 344 yards and a touchdown. The Hokies held off a fourth quarter rally to win 55-52.

Elsewhere around the league: The Chip Kelly experiment is over in the NFL, but it comes too late for him to participate in the ridiculous coaching carousel of 2015. See previous posts. That might not necessarily be true. I could see several big name schools (Texas, Auburn) that underachieved this year but held on to their coaches deciding even at this stage that they can take a swing on the carousel. Now, I will say it's highly unlikely. Kelly has already stated his preference to staying in the NFL, where numerous other job openings are about to happen. And a school taking this route would have to have him committed before it fires its current coach, because to fire the coach and then not land Chip Kelly would set the program back years. For those reasons, it's highly unlikely to happen--but not impossible. Kelly could also find himself back on a college sideline if one of those numerous NFL openings is filled by a current college coach. If Nick Saban, for example, is lured to Indianapolis, it's certainly not out of the question that the Bama job might be more appealing to Kelly than cleaning up the mess that is the Titans or the Dolphins. That said, I still think it's much more likely that Kelly will be in the NFL somewhere next year than back in college, but weirder things have happened.

Honestly, if the Browns were expressing interest I'd stay in school another year. Basically everyone aside from Joe Thomas they draft has had their career ruined or significantly derailed.

Auburn vs Memphis BIRMINGHAM BOWL. This was a battle of quarterbacks, but neither of them played very well. Auburn's Sean White threw for 103 yards and two interceptions. Memphis' Paxton Lynch threw for 108 yards and an interception of his own. It was Auburn's running game lead by Jovon Robinson with 126 yards, had three touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a 31-10 win.
NC State vs Mississippi State BELK BOWL. Another quarterback battle, but this time with a clear winner. NC State's Jacoby Brissett had 214 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, but the Bulldogs' Dak Prescott had 380 yards and four touchdowns. Mississippi State wins 51-28.
Texas A&M vs Louisville RANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL What the heck is going on with the Aggies? Both quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transferred this month, leaving Jake Hubenak to throw for 307 yards, two touchdowns and an interceptions. Give credit to Louisbilles Lamar Jackson with 207 yards passing, two touchdowns in the air as well as 226 rushing yards and ran in two more scores. The Cardinals win 27-21.
USC vs Wisconsin NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY BOWL Finally a close one. USC's Cody Kessler threw for 221 and a touchdown and interception each while Joel Stave had 217 yards and a touchdown. It came down to a field goal. Rafael Gaglianone kicked a 29-yard field goal with 2:27 left to give Wisconsin the win 23-21.
Houston vs Florida State CHICK-FIL-A PEACH BOWL The Seminoles' Sean Maguire threw for 392 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw four interceptions. Dalvin Cook was held to 33 yards rushing with a touchdown and a lost fumble. Although Florida State rallied in the fourth quarter, you can't turn the ball over five times and expect to win against a team like Houston. Greg Ward Jr. had 238 yards and three touchdowns on the ground and in the air to lead Houston to a 38-24 victory.
Oklahoma vs Clemson CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL - SEMIFINAL Another quarterback battle. Baker Mayfield threw for 311 yards, but Deshaun Watson had 187 yards in the air and 150 on the ground with three touchdowns. Add Wayne Gallman's 150 yards and pair of touchdowns and Clemson advances to the championship 37-17.
Michigan State vs Alabama GOODYEAR COTTON BOWL - SEMIFINAL Wow. What the heck happened? Connor Cook threw 210 yards and two interceptions and the Tide defense held the Spartans to 29 yards rushing. Alabama's Jake Coker had 286 and two touchdowns, and while Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry only had 75 yards, but had two touchdowns. The game was all about the defense, who shut out Michigan State 38-0, and Alabama advances to the championship game
Northwestern vs Tennessee OUTBACK BOWL Joshua Dobbs had 166 yards in the air, but rushed for two touchdowns. The Volunteers ran for three more as they stomped on Northwestern 45-6
Michigan vs Florida BUFFALO WILD WINGS CITRUS BOWL Wolverine quarterback Jake Rudock threw for 278 and three touchdowns, taking advantage of Florida's inability to generate any offense. With suspended quarterback Will Grier transferring, Florida will have to rely on Treon Harris for another year. Michigan won 41-7.
Notre Dame vs Ohio State FIESTA BOWL DeShone Kizer had a good game to cap a pretty good year: 284 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. But the Buckeyes were playing with a chip on their shoulders. J.T. Barrett had 211 yards and a touchdown and Ezekiel Elliott ran for 149 yards and found the end zone four times. Elliot, Cardale Jones, and Joey Busa all announced their intent to register for the NFL draft as Ohio State wins 44-28
Stanford vs Iowa ROSE BOWL Iowa's C.J. Beathard capped off a good year by throwing 239 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to beat the Stanford Machine. Kevin Hogan threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns in the air and one on the ground, but it was Christian McCaffrey who ran for 172 yards and had 105 receiving yards and a touchdown as well as a 28 yard kick return and a 63 punt return for a touchdown (368 total yards, and he's coming back next year). The Cardinal wins 45-16.
Oklahoma State vs Ole Miss ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL The Rebel's Chad Kelly threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns as Ole Miss beat Oklahoma State 48-20
Penn State vs Georgia TAXSLAYER BOWL Penn State's Christian Hackenberg threw for 139 and an interception before being taken out of the game with a right shoulder injury. Afterwards, he declared for the draft. His replacement Trace McSorley threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a fourth quarter attempt to rally from a 24-3 deficit, but they simply ran out of time. Georgia wins 24-17
Kansas State vs Arkansas AUTOZONE LIBERTY BOWL Brandon Allen had 315 yards and a touchdown, and Alex Collins ran for 185 yards and three more as the Razorbacks won 45-23.
Oregon vs TCU VALERO ALAMO BOWL There was drama even before the game started. Trevone Boykin was suspended two days earlier after getting into a bar fight. And at first it looked like it was going to be a blow out, with Oregon leading 31-0 at the half, but then quarterback Vernon Adams Jr, who had passed for 197 yards and a touchdown, left the game with an injury, and as we had seen earlier in the year, without Adams, Oregon has difficulty competing. Jeff Lockie came in and struggled moistly due to second string center Doug Brenner's inability to snap the ball. In his one and only start TCU's backup quarterback, Bram Kohlhausen threw for 351 yards 2 and two touchdowns, led a comeback to tie the game at the end of regulation. In the third overtime, the Ducks failed to score a touchdown and the Horned Frogs win 47-41.
West Virginia vs Arizona State CACTUS BOWL Do you like offense? Mountaineer quarterback Skyler Howard threw for 532 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions and Mike Bercovici threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns. West Virginia led most of the game until Arizona State took over in the third quarter, the lead going back and forth until a touchdown pass to West Virginia's David Sills tied it late in the fourth. The extra point won it 43-42
