So.......
At home, I can read AV Club articles, but I can't see any comments at all. At work, I can see the comments, but no articles. (I use Firefox in both places, but I've had similar problems with other browsers, too).
I wasn't sure if these problems were on my end (due to Firefox privacy settings or something), or if the AV CLub were still working out some problems with the site.
Anyone else having these types of problems? When they first rolled out the new re-design, it sounded like there were some bugs and they advised people to try using a different browser. Do you know if they're still working on it, or if there are any fixes?
If not, I guess I'll just have to spend all my time here!

There's been a few times where they didn't turn the comments on or something, so the article would post with no comment options. But it shouldn't be happening for the whole site. And I haven't seen the comments but no article problem before.

I didn't have any issues, but it can be hit or miss.

I'm noticing that the comments are loading sometimes newest first, sometimes oldest, on some Christless whim. Newest first is wrong.

Sometimes I have to activally click on the "comments" symbol (looks like a dialogue bubble) for comments to load. Sometimes that doesn't work either though. And even when it does work, it often makes me log out and log in again, even though i've just made a comment, say. Yeah, there's still a lot of bugs and annoyances.

At work, I cannot see the comments. It gives me an eternal "Disqus is loading slower than usual" message. I use firefox at work. I actually keep meaning to try Chrome here but I'm allegedly getting a new work laptop soon so I keep hoping that will solve the problem.

At work, I used a firm-mandated version of IE9 and the 2 columns of Newswire items are smushed together.

After an upgrade to Windows 7 and then installing the latest Flash, I can finally see Disqus comments again.
Now I can look forward to all of the OTHER fun nuDisqus brings.

Oh, and Todd is still facing the log-out issue, and Disqus have done fuck all about fixing it despite his repeated complaints. And he's the fucking site editor. Odds of them hearing our complaints?

Did I mention I can't see disqus comments again? It's like the new laptop decided it hated disqus too.

From time to time, NuDiquis lists me as some strange entity named "Emma". I'm unsure if there's an Emma out there who used Tea Rex as a moniker on another Disquis site or what, but it's kinda freaky.
Also, sometimes my IE8 craps out and forces the articles into Compatibility View, which means I cannot see the comments unless I reload the browser.

Anybody getting a "Disqus is Taking Longer To Load" message and no comments today? I like to think that some AVClub staffer is throwing a metaphorical shoe into the Disqus machinery. God bless that imaginary staffer.

Lots of "Longer To Load' messages. Just had a fun 10 minutes where even trying to look at the comments autoscrolled to the bottom of the list. Then Son Of Neckbeard posted this: "Disqus locked me out of my account last Friday. I later learned that I couldn;t log back in because Disqus had changed the system to only accept usernames without spaces and all in lowercase (e.g., sonofneckbeard, password). Why would the company impose such stupid rules, and then not tell anyone until the rule started screwing up people's commenting?" www.avclub.com/article/today-in-star-wars-reports-jj-abrams-says-the-scri-107094#comment-1209458340

God bless that imaginary staffer. In my panic I checked over at The Dissolve and it,, too, was not having comments load.

The problem is Disqus-wide, not just AVC. I tried going on the Dashboard and I couldn't see anything, just some boilerplate message about maintenance.

I created a new gimmick account last night, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to access my avatar settings. It is extraordinarily frustrating.

Don't you just go to the top of the comments, look to the right where it has your screen name (as opposed to My Disqus), click on that, then click on Your Profile, then click on Edit Profile. The avatar setting setting should present itself among a few other options. I think I hope I pray.

Hmmm ... I've just checked again, and it's still there for me. Do you have a Disqus account? If not, I'm not sure how to help ... I'm honestly crap at all this stuff, and am amazed I tried to offer help in the first place.
