Both times I found coming up with potential girl names I like WAY easier than coming up with boy names I liked.  That being said, I had real prolonged dalliances with "Xavier" and "Sycamore" for Owl Jr. before settling on a more normal name I like for him (and then, annoyingly, that name fucking BLEW UP for boy's his age).

Depends on your last name. If your last name starts with a hard consonant, choose a name that ends on a vowel or liquid sound like "Billy". If your last name starts with a vowel, choose a name that ends on a consonant like "Bill".

I second Ben Grimm's suggestions, especially William, I love the name Bill. I'd like to add Alfred (Alfie) and George to potential English kings' names "Georgie Porgie pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry, when the boys came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away".
Along with Reuben (he'll have his own theme tune!), I'll throw in Amos, Ezra (helper), and Gad (good luck), because why not.

Anyway, my family's naming strategy is to use uncommon but not overly unusual names. That way there aren't 3 other people with the same name in a class of 25, but also the kid doesn't have to spend a lifetime spelling their name over the phone.

How about Hector? I think it's unusual for anglophones but not too out there. Can it pair with the last name? Do you think your kid can grow up to pull it off? Look at yourself and at your male relatives, including the ones on your wife's side. Do you look like Hectors?
