Congrats, Snape! Boy names are a fucking pain, right? Girl names are great; boy names are, like, the best you can really hope for is Not Overtly Silly. "Welp, flip a coin, it's either Dan or Mark." Ugh.
I have no suggestions - we thought of one and we used it and you can't have it - but I'll help by posting this 100% accurate list of Boy Names That Are Terrible, which I've painstakingly compiled over the course of I'm going to make this up as I type:
- Seth - Jeremy - Phil - Wayne
No people with the above names have ever been cool. Again, this is accurate.

I have actually known several really cool Phils, and they were all as above -- excellent humans, smooth with the ladies, and sharp dressers. Clearly there is something going on with Phils.

But I fully agree about Seth, Jeremy, and Wayne!
Tangent to people named Wayne: during orientation week of my freshman year at college (1994), when you're willing (for the first and last time in your life) to wander up to complete strangers and strike up conversation just because everyone is new and in the same social boat, I randomly started talking to this guy. Who introduced himself as Dwayne. And I laughed in his face and then asked what his name really was. Because what 18-year-old in 1994 was named Dwayne?? That was the final time I wandered up to a complete stranger and struck up conversation. He didn't respond well to my mad social skills and utter disbelief that "Dwayne" was a real thing.

Congrats, Snape! Boy names are a fucking pain, right? Girl names are great; boy names are, like, the best you can really hope for is Not Overtly Silly. We had a list of literally a dozen boy names when we were pregnant and were frantically praying it wouldn't be a girl because we couldn't think of anything. You can guess how that turned out.

We've zeroed in on a name. Maybe 90-95% certain. I'm not going to share it just yet, but I will say that, though he did so through sheer brute force, Roy Batty's Pet Dove did recommend our frontrunner. It's "Jett", isn't it.

Seriously?! You're like the only person I've ever heard say that. Did you give Snape your list, just in case he changes his mind? We even had middle names picked for boys. I'm a little fussy about how names sound with my surname, and also it starts with an M, so a lot of girl's names are therefore ineligible.

It's not changing at this point, so here you go. First and middle will be:
Jameson Dale
Dale is also my and my father's middle name, so that's where that comes from.
Thank you to rando for naming my baby.
(And for the record, I know at least one really cool Phil.)

Hooray, congrats!
The owners of Gemma also have a son named Jameson so it's totally a Dallas chef thing, too.
(And thank you for letting we, the TIers, be the first to say heh...whiskey.)

My parents were friends with a bunch of Jamesons when I was kid - people, not bottles of whiskey.

I like Jameson. Is that pronounced with 3 syllables (like it is in my head)?

I am a complete baby name snob and am in complete agreement that Jameson is a great name (and that Dale is a sweet middle).
Are you planning on calling him by his full name or do you have a nickname in mind?

Are you planning on calling him by his full name or do you have a nickname in mind? Thanks! I'm just going to let time decide that second part. My daughter's name is Adelaide, and before she arrived I was hellbent on calling her that. Ha! I made it maybe 3 days before I started calling her Addy like everyone else. Not until I became a parent did I understand how practical nicknames are. They give you one more level of escalation when scolding the child. Nickname First Name First and Middle! FULL NAME!!!
