Matmos, The Civil War. One of my favourite works of theirs (particularly The Struggle Against Unreality Begins.)

I am listening to Korngold's Suite for 2 violins, cello and piano left hand. Not a composer I know particularly well, but by chance I listened to the 4th movement earlier and had to hear the rest of it.

Townes Van Zandt - You Are Not Needed Now.
(As long as The AV Club keeps up the features like the TVZ one earlier this week, it has my undying devotion.)

Presently, Catgun is listening to the coughing of one library patron seated several yards away. Catgun is also listening to Soma FM; more specifically, the Deep Space One station. For whatever reason, I do like the concept of radio stations, though in practice I tend to dread hearing, say, Bon Jovi or goddamn Def Leppard yet again.

Now I'm listening to Woodkid's Golden Age. RTE using his Iron for their Generation War trailer reminded me that I quite liked that song. Album is also good.

Destination Zulu Land by King Kurt (to this day I don't know what they yell in the background and I don't want to know. I've yelled "I'm gonna be one whooo nah hey HO!" for over 20 years and I'm not gonna stop now)

Styx- Come Sail Away This song is less ridiculous when Eric Cartman sings it.

Bob Dylan - Brownsville Girl.
I'm listening to some of the less-loved corners of Dylan's output (religious albums, 80s stuff), to see if I can't assemble a couple of half-decent playlists. It looks possible, I can report.

I'm listening to Eric Whitacre's classical choral piece "A Boy and a Girl". I am attempting to memorize it for a performance at Lincoln Center in March. I am trying to memorize a lot of classical choral music right now, so that is what I've been listening to primarily.

I'm listening to an annoyance of grackles who have taken up positions in the trees around my house who are chattering, squawking, and otherwise really, really loudly communicating with each other.

Theme Song of 'The Magnificent Seven' by Elmer Bernstein
Back when I used to do Improv, we always played a song really loud over the P.A. in order to let the audience know the show was about to start, something to 'bring us in'.
Seriously, for three friggin' years I rallied and begged to have that song played to bring us in at least once, but they always chose popular, trendy songs instead. I have never forgiven them for shooting me down on that one, and I still say using that song could have changed EVERYTHING for us. We coulda been HUGE!
Listening to it now, I totally still know I'm right.
