Explain (or demonstrate if possible) the chair dance. Curious catgun is curious. I think it's the one where you dance while seated because you have to dance but you can't or won't get up... When you are caught between "get down" and "get up"

I'm listening to an annoyance of grackles who have taken up positions in the trees around my house who are chattering, squawking, and otherwise really, really loudly communicating with each other. Are they the noisiest birds or what?! When I lived in Texas it used to drive me crazy how much noise they made!

Because I am super queer (I'm allowed to use that word, I actually AM queer): I fucking love Tegan and Sara.

An old favourite (wish I could find a link to just a movement, but this'll do): Never heard of Strong before, and the piece was interesting enough, but I can't say I've heard anything American pre-Ives that's really caught me fully.

The Larch Really it's the kind of mythic, almost Wagnerian bombast Templeton Strong brings to his take on Sintram that I like. The first motif in particular.

Captain Beefheart - Sure 'Nuff 'N Yes I Do.
Like Marc Maron, I'm concerned that I'm not "large enough of mind" to appreciate Beefheart.

mclusky and Future of the Left are very good, and would probably make a better option than listening to my wheezing laptop.

Because I am in full-bore "It's Thanksgivemas Season!" mode, I'm listening to Dreamers "Winter Wonderland" right now. If anyone wants to feel festive, I highly recommend this. (And my computer here at work won't load videos, so apologies if this link isn't what I think it is.)

I watched The Great Gatsby last night, and loved it (surprisingly), so I've been listening to the soundtrack ever since.

The local college radio station's playing something like an hour bloc of Marc Bolan and T. Rex. Splendid.

Are they the noisiest birds or what?! When I lived in Texas it used to drive me crazy how much noise they made! They've congregated around my house for the last several nights. Good lord they are loud. Being in an enclosed space with a bunch of them would lead to actual hearing damage.

It's just twisted versions of popular types of songs. I haven't ever really gotten into his truly weird stuff, but Safe as Milk is on permanent rotation.

That's been by far my favorite album of the year (even though it came out last year).

I am currently studying in a coffeeshop, where the staff has decided to play the soundtrack to Lost in Translation. All thoughts on the film itself aside - don't get me started on this - the soundtrack remains pretty good, even out of context. I will now lip your stockings, but only because I must.
