My very good friend's little brother is in broadcasting school and has a two hour time slot of online university radio on Wednesdays, which I'm listening to right now for the first time. I'm a huge fan already.

If this song comes up on your shuffle just try to skip it. You can't. It's impossible.

Chvrches - "Lies"
I'm going to be infatuated with this song for a week or so, I can tell this right now.

It's Thanksgiving, we dragged out the fake tree and all the decorations in preparation for tree-trimming tomorrow. I can't friggin' help myself.

Nine Inch Nails-With Teeth
I've been slowly working my way through NIN's discography in preparation for Hesitation Marks (I've fallen a bit behind). I'd never listened to With Teeth (or any NIN album post-The Fragile) album until a couple of days ago; it's a lot better than I was expecting it to be.

Funny, I did the same thing with NIN this past spring. I hadn't really listened to any of their albums since freaking Downward Spiral. I'm pretty sure I hated With Teeth and Year Zero, but I enjoyed The Slip. Hesitation Marks has a couple good tracks but that's it.

The latest Juno Reactor album, "The Golden Sun of the Great East". It's a bitter irony that so much of their best work ended up in the sodding Matrix sequels. Try this track off the new album, 'Invisible'.

I realized about a week ago that I really like Chvrches a lot. Then last wednesday, I found out at like 6:00 that they were playing in Atlanta that night. Atlanta's about 2 1/2 hours from here, so at first I was bummed but then I said fuck it, I'm going anyway. So I went to order a ticket and they were sold out. I was pretty pissed.
So, yeah, I'm listening to a lot of Chvrches lately. Also, I picked up a Tegan & Sara 7" and The Flaming Lips' Peace Sword yesterday.

I was thinking about how music needs more awesome saxophone in it, so I went and listened to Dexy's Midnight Runners - GenoI once had this song stuck in my head for like a month, because I heard it randomly in a podcast while driving back from NYC

The Walkmen broke up, probably. I am legitimately sad, as I think they're 1 of the all-time great rock groups and definitely was the best active. They're friends and kept it together as businessmen, but apparently the latter got too stressful. It's really unfortunate, because the last classic song they released, The House You Made, showed a whole different direction for the men. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hDlfANz0HI I've been listening for awhile. I've seen and met them 3 times now, as I've said, but a friend of mine could have seen them during their 1st few shows. He's in the video game industry in the U.K., and Iain composed the theme song for/Churches are friends with this radio show/podcast called 1 Life Left. He passed up multiple chances to see and meet them because they hadn't released an LP yet. HE PASSED UP KARAOKE NIGHT WITH THEM. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4JojcvGsIY Fool!

The strange whistly-gurgly noises coming out of my virus battered lungs, and the sounds of my immune system getting ready to kill itself.
And The Specials.
'Cause they make me wanna live.

Currently going through my iTunes library and trying to figure out which stuff I haven't listened to in a long time and what is worth keeping or not worth keeping since it is taking up nearly 500GB of my hard drive.
Currently revisiting the letter L.
Liz Phair- Exile in Guyville Haven't listened to this in at least 15 years, probably 20, and damn did this sound dated and terribly recorded when I first started re-listening but it didn't take long to remember just why this was such an acclaimed album from the early 90s.
Lauren Hill- The Miseducation of Lauren Hill Again, haven't listened to this in 10 years. This hasn't lost anything over the years, wonderful album, all time classic.
Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards- Self Titled Couple of excellent songs with 6foot5 and the cover of Billy Bragg's To Have and To Have Not.

The Magnetic Fields- 69 Love Songs Vol. 1-3 This probably could have been condensed down to about 20 songs and have been an absolutely kick ass album where every song is blissful but it has a lot of filler at 3 albums. However, I could listen to an endless loop of I'm Sorry I Love You all day.

However, I could listen to an endless loop of I'm Sorry I Love You all day. I was listening to them almost all of last week and enjoying it, but eventually realized it was making me anxious because it was triggering all kinds of "new relationship worries". Because I'm ridiculous. So now I'm listening to Rufus Wainwright's Want 1 and 2 which is somehow better.
