What's this?TV Reviews are just a new set of boards I've tacked onto the TI where people can write reviews of TV series (or webseries, and hey, who knows what else we'd branch out into). Why is this?TV Club Classic on the AV Club is going to end. Many beloved series will never be covered, others will never have their coverage finished (like Cheers and likely Babylon 5 and not to be alarmist but maybe also Gilmore Girls. This was started as a reaction to that, sometimes if you just want a beloved TV series to be given an in-depth look you gotta do it yourself. How do I sign up?Really, all you need to do is to tell me you want to write a review... but more specifically, that you plan to do it soon. Specify you want to write your first review sometime in the next week (not that you'll be kept on any timetable after that, you understand) and I'll set you up your own board where you can write your posts. What if I don't want to start within a week? You can indicate here you want to review a show anyway. Here is my provisional list of forumless future potential reviews: Band of Brothers. PearBlackadder. Lone Locust of the ApocalypseCharlie Jade. Douay-Rheims-ChallonerCheers. Douay-Rheims-ChallonerColumbo. Ron Howard VoiceDead Like Me. MissBeaHavenDr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Liz n DicksgivingEZ Streets. clytieFinal Fantasy VI. @pugsmalone, SensitiveSethPutnamFrasier. Douay-Rheims-ChallonerKing Of The Hill. El SidLife on Mars (U.K.). CaradeMurder She Wrote. Liz n DicksgivingPhineas and Ferb. @otherguy Quantum Leap. E.Buzz MillerThe Rockford Files. Liz n DicksgivingWalker, Texas Ranger. Liz n DicksgivingStargate (various). Douay-Rheims-ChallonerSpiral. Douay-Rheims-ChallonerThe Wire. @hairdresser ThunderCats (1980). William T. Goat, Esq.What kinds of shows can be reviewed?I have a preference, for obvious reasons, for series that have not been covered by the AV Club or will not be covered (The Wire is a certainty.) Series that will not be fully covered by the AV Club also qualify here. The shows are not exclusively the kinds of shows that would be covered on TV Club Classic, mind, as there are regular TV shows that don't get covered either - whether you're a fan of K-dramas or Continuum, there is a case to be made for covering some current shows too. Can more than one person review a show?Yes. You may collaborate on the reviews or write your own, separate reviews, either way you share a board so play nice.

Ugh, the Classic reviews of Star Trek: TOS were what drew me to the site in the first place.

Man, they're really falling apart. That's straight up sad.

I know I've seen a couple other people on AVC who are doing first-time Buffy/Angel watch-throughs. We should try to sync up and talk about it here.

I probably would post shorter, more manageable comments if I didn't start going overboard on Farscape. It is not an exaggeration to say TV Club Classic is my favourite part of that website.

Aww, I love TV Club Classic. This is really sad.
I'd start writing about Phineas and Ferb from the beginning.

What. The. Fuck.
Jesus, AVClub.
I really have no right to bitch. It's a free site. They can do what they want. They can try to make money however they can. But no TV Club Classic? nuDisqus?
I just checked that comment thread, and it seems like TVdW is saying that comments don't tie to the lurkers who visit the site. That kind of reminds me of what happened to Deadspin and Gawker.
Welp. Anyone want to go create a pop-culture KsK with me? It's not like we'll have any competition!

I'd be willing to do an extended series of articles going through Final Fantasy VI, maybe with someone else who's never played it before?

...Cheers and Frasier are perhaps also things I'd be up for as far as classic shows I love, and I'm considering doing a first-timer's look at the Stargate universe.
And hell I don't know. I'll be watching Spiral with Lurky McLurk next year, so there's that. Lotta options basically (on the other website I did say Big Love and Love/Hate, too.)

I'm already doing FNL, although I'm at the end of season 3 and will only revisit maybe 7-8 season 1 episodes.
I'm also willing to do The Wire, Band of Brothers, Deadwood, or Battlestar Galactica maybe? Although not all at once of course.

I'm probably going to watch Hannibal, as I haven't done it yet, and might be interested in a writeup. I probably need a month or so to get done with my classes before I can justify TV, though.

I have the first two seasons of Due South", so that would work. I'd also be down for "Middleman".

If I weren't swamped with schoolwork, I'd love to do King of the Hill writeups. A very overlooked show.

I'd be interested in something like Daria (and I'd certainly be willing to share duties on that).

So I've been mulling something about reviews like this if we do it on this website.
Here is something I can do:
I can give any series someone is covering their own subforum. This person can be made moderator of this specific forum, so they can move around posts and sticky their reviews and so on. If more than one person is reviewing a show, then more than one person can moderate that forum.
So. If anyone feels like starting one of those up sooner rather than later, let me know and I can do that.

If we're looking for a stronger dorky old lady presence here, I would be up for reviewing Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, as mentioned over on TI Proper, or Murder, She Wrote or Walker, Texas Ranger. Because I have the least hip taste in TV ever, and seem to love shows that have commas in the titles! (Although I would also do Rockford Files; that's cool, right?)

I plan to do a Profit review sometime next week. I might just post it on Monday and shamelessly remind people on the Shoutbox. However, I'm guessing most people haven't seen Profit, so I will have to somehow get people interested first. So: the only place other than DVDs where I've found the pilot for Profit is on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjlg3ddGFmwPeople should watch it now and read my review next week!

Okay I've put up subforums for both K. Thrace's Profit reviews and PolarBears' Friday Night Lights reviews. Anyone specifically wanting to write reviews within the next week, let me know and I'll set up the forum now (not that I'd keep you to any kind of timetable, just if you need the forum now as opposed to later it can be arranged.)
