I can't specifically speak to flapjackriley's reference but I just went to my dashboard/home (I don't know which it is anymore) and when I clicked on a site I followed, instead of current headlines, I saw "top comments" from recent (week-old) stories. |

I very much dislike the fact that they now show random comments from sites I've never visited in that main page chunk. I don't give a crap about Billboard.com or whatever other bullshit site you are peddling Disquz.

I just found out that if you're on your Disqus homepage and click on the upper right of the featured posts you can unsubscribe from the Disqus Team's stupid repost crap.

Disqus has apparently updated its rules so that you can't upvote somebody unless you log in. It used to be that you couldn't downvote somebody without logging in, but now, I can't go back through old articles and upvote funny comments anonymously. That's annoying. So if you guys want to upvote this post, please do so as quickly as possible. Because I always feel a bit weird when I find out that somebody just upvoted me from, like, six months ago. I guess I'm kind of a hypocrite.

It used to be that you couldn't downvote somebody without logging in, but now, I can't go back through old articles and upvote funny comments anonymously. That's annoying. So if you guys want to upvote this post, please do so as quickly as possible. Because I always feel a bit weird when I find out that somebody just upvoted me from, like, six months ago. I guess I'm kind of a hypocrite. Shit, I don't want to lose the ratio-income from all those Guest upvotes. |

π cahusserole π Mineβs still about 7:1βsome people were getting very weird upvotes (I think Souse Chef said he randomly got something like 300 on an old comment) but for most of us I donβt think itβs a big deal. That said I also donβt comment on TV or film reviews and tend to only wade into comments when there are people I recognize there (or, more rarely, actually something to say), so I wasnβt getting many guest upvotes in the first place.

Dropped in to comment this morning after last logging in to FuckDisqus in the middle of the evening... and I was still logged in. Disqus hasn't bounced me out in over 14 hours.
This feels so wrong. And I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. But dear gods, Disqus might actually be improving.

I have not been able to login at the OC for a few days now. When I try to log in using my AVC login (cause, nope discus, just nope) I get the following error message: ----------------------------------------------- Your connection is not private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.avclub.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). You attempted to reach www.avclub.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as support4.cdnetworks.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of www.avclub.com. Proceed to www.avclub.com (unsafe) ------------------------------------------------- I have tried this several times, and sometimes the questionable URL is different. I recently added an anti-web exploit option to my firewall, and this seems to be when I first got this message. I have run malware detection scans, and a couple of different antivirus scans, and nothing has been found. Is this just discus being discus, and my safety software being overly cautious, or is my computer infected with something so insidious that it is outwitting detection and removal? Will I ever be able to log in to the OC again? Am I doomed? |

My posts show up as guest immediately after I post them but then show up under my name shortly thereafterβI wonder if theyβve added extra automated checks or filters or safeguards.

Admittedly this is on the female directors ACLU page, so it might be running a itsy-bitsy bit hot...
EDIT: Seems fine now: must have been the extra rivers of shite from drive-by dudebros...

I have not, to my knowledge, merged my AVC and (pretty much unused) discus account. My AVC account went for a couple of weeks recently when I could not login. I eventually found that if I used an incognito window it would let me login. Never found out why. Eventually it started letting me log in normally and stay logged in. Never found out why that either. You might try an incognito window, just for giggles. |

Is anyone else running into this? i have weird merged/unmerged/merged account so i am still 2 entities on disqus-- had same problem. went to disqus and refreshed there, then returned to avc with same problem at login window, but scrolled down to find my disqus login worked fine-- hope this helps. |
