So...umm...not a great year for the Big 12 again. Well, it was a better year than last, but that was an absurdly low bar to clear. Pretty impressive defensive job by Villanova first stifling Mr. Consistency Perry Ellis and then making POTY Buddy Hield a non-factor. It would be nice if the actual championship game is at least somewhat entertaining. . . |

So...umm...not a great year for the Big 12 again. Well, it was a better year than last, but that was an absurdly low bar to clear. As always, KU didn't do themselves any favors with their early season non-con gauntlet, but I was hoping we would take care of Indiana. Especially since it doesn't get any easier with Duke on tap for tonight. At any rate, it's the standard Bill Self approach: make yourself as battle tested as possible and hope that prepares you for your conference schedule.
How's everybody feeling about their teams this year?

As always, KU didn't do themselves any favors with their early season non-con gauntlet, but I was hoping we would take care of Indiana. Especially since it doesn't get any easier with Duke on tap for tonight. At any rate, it's the standard Bill Self approach: make yourself as battle tested as possible and hope that prepares you for your conference schedule. How's everybody feeling about their teams this year? It feels weird to be starting a season with Georges Niang anchoring Iowa State. Having Morris back probably guarantees that our NCAA tourney streak continues, but what that means in terms of making noise in the Big 12 this year, I have no idea. They'll put up points, but it's going to take time for them to figure out this mix of grad transfer post players and small ball on the defensive end. Excited to see them start playing some real teams over Thanksgiving. |

Mizzou took Xavier to OT yesterday, which is about the best "win" the program has gotten in a while. Apparently, that took everything out of them, because they're not even halfway through the first half as I type this, and Davidson is already ahead by 17. Sigh.

I'm not going to say that wearing the stupid "special" uniforms is the reason that Arizona lost to Oregon tonight, but still. Those uniforms were stupid. Wildcats, don't try this against Oregon. They ORIGINATED the concept of wearing stupid new uniforms every week. You didn't stand a chance.
