Did anyone see that poor kid from Florida accidentally tap in a last second Florida State miss to lose the game last night? Maybe beastofman ? How do you live that one down

The 5 seconds of basketball starting at :30 at this link are unfathomably bad. Miss clinching free throw, literally get lost on transition D, give up tying 3. Edit: well dangit, starting at :30 of the last video in the playlist.

How are you feeling on the eve of first ISU-KU game Superb Owl π¦? We're as evenly matched as I thought we'd be (and the B12 in general is incredibly balanced to this point). With Texas underperforming so far, I think the two games against the Cyclones will be our toughest tests this season, and frankly this year it's hard to see us stealing one at the Hilton.

I think both of us take care of business at home this year, and it will come down to who can steal the most road wins elsewhere.

It's already become a clichΓ©, but for us (especially against an athletic, sharp-shooting team like ISU), it will likely come down to Frank Mason's play. It's crazy in retrospect that Frankcramp and Tharpe transferred - with Graham's injury and Mason pulling down above-and-beyond duty, each would have gotten plenty of extra minutes this season.

On behalf of our athletic director, I would like to offer you one (1) dump truck full of money and the services of a graphic designer specializing in appropriate balance of red and yellow in exchange for the services of Mr. Hoiberg.

HA! The thing is, I think even with infinite truckloads of money we'd have trouble attracting another coach capable of sustaining what Hoiberg has got going. Thus the paranoia in central Iowa from April through mid-summer every year when his name keeps getting thrown out for NBA jobs.

Wow, this ISU-KSU game is shaping up to be a great one. . . All of the Hoiberg-era K-State games have been really close. I was hoping this would be the year we broke that trend, but you take wins any way you can in this conference.

We have to stop meeting like this Superb Owl π¦. It's unfair to West Virginia and others who are still very much in the mix to call tomorrow night's game a potential B12 title knock-out game in such a balanced year in conference, but it certainly feels like that. If we get stung twice this year home and away by ISU, it's hard to see us winning the title or deserving to; and if the Cyclones win, they could put themselves in position to take the title but also open it up to others hanging around. Tensions (per usual) will be high! Stakes (per usual) will be high! I wish (per usual) I could be there!

I feel about as good as you can about us stealing one at Phog Allen, but considering we blew it a Tech and Baylor, I think it's very conceivable that KU could take the league (again...*sigh*) even if they lose tomorrow night.

Well Wallet Inspector congrats on yet another regular season Big 12 title . We had our chance to take control of that game early and just pissed away with dumb passes and generally sloppy play. And kudos to Bill Self & company for completely shutting down our transition game. They learned their lesson after the game in Ames.

Also, just because it was the first thing I thought of when they showed the highlights at halftime, here is a picture of Virginia's Justin Anderson just so @satelliteskynet can be horrified by his facial hair.

Thanks for the help in the Big 12 standings this weekend Cowboys @supernintendochalmer No bueno. OK St is one of the few B12 teams we historically struggle against on the road, but there's no reason you should lose a game when you're up double digits at the break. That was a dismal second half. Still, I never cease to be amused when fans of a quality team that's been ranked in the top 25 storm the court during an in-conference game. . .

No one is more upset about OSU fans storming the court than OSU fans that vividly remember the Eddie Sutton years. Everyone gets a pass for sounding like Jay Bilas in this situation. (no, I didn't watch the game. Not watching anymore unless they make the tournament.)

Wild finish in Morgantown tonight. Perry Ellis had a great look at it for the win, but just didn't get the bounce. This B12 lead feels anything but safe - conference is too tough and balanced.

Iowa State dropping that game in Lubbock (and to a lesser extent the game @baylor) is going to haunt us right to the bitter end of this race.

Wallet Inspector Would KU be willing to drop a game or two down the stretch here so we can have a share of the title? Thanks in advance!

Got to attend my very first (believe it or not) KU game on Saturday. I had probably the worst seat in the house, and it was amazing. Having been fortunate enough to attend both this year, I can honestly say that the atmosphere at Allen Fieldhouse for a regular season game against a near-last place opponent is a more intense atmosphere than Game 1 of the World Series.

You jest, but I'm legitimately nervous about the next few days. Regardless of record, the Octagon's a dangerous place for us to play, and as tough as Baylor is I don't see them being a problem for ISU at Hilton, so I'm fearful you may get your wish by Wednesday. . .

I just cant' see them losing to Baylor on Wednesday. Scott Drew and Co. have never won a game there. We only lost in Waco by one, and the 1st 10 minutes of that game was possibly the worst offensive basketball I've ever seen from a Hoiberg team. I doubt they repeat that. @k-State and OU on Monday are by far the bigger risks for ISU to pick up a 5th conference loss.
That being said, as much as I'd love to see you guys blow it in the Octagon tonight, even Thomas Gipson apparently thinks they'll lose by 27*. The championship race is going to come down to who can beat Oklahoma next week.
*Yes I know that quote was taken way out of context.

Very cool. I'm glad that tickets to ISU games are still reasonably attainable. There is nothing like being in the arena for a college game with a great home court.

Maybe the best arena of any sport in the country. Does make me a bit cranky at how much Gallagher-Iba has fallen off. This was apparently the crowd that was in the house for the most recent ISU game, when both teams were ranked. Can't blame it all on the NBA moving in, Travis. Also - the Roy Williams 4-corners offense tribute was awesome.
